BE IT RESOLVED, this the 15th day of March, 1979, that
the City Council, of the City of Allen, meeting in Regular Session
this date, does hereby authorize its Mayor, M.B. Pierson, to
execute an agreement with the Department of Community Affairs, to
secure Comprehensive Planning Assistance, under Section 701, under
the Housing and Community Assistance Act of 1954, as amended.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF ALLEN, TEXAS SUSPENDING
THE OPERATION OF PROPOSED RATE INCREASE SCHEDULES FILED
BY LONE STAR GAS COMPANY, A DIVISION OF ENSERCH CORPORATION,
FOR A PERIOD OF ONE HUNDRED TWENTY (120) DAYS BEYOND THE
DATE ON WHICH SUCH SCHEDULES WOULD OTHERWISE GO INTO EFFECT.
WHEREAS, Lone Star Gas Company, a public utility
under Article 6050 et. seq. V.A.C.S. and Article 1446c
V.A.C.S. (Supp. 1976) did on May 4, 1979 file a schedule
of rates for gas service within the City of Allen to
become effective June 11, 1979; and
WHEREAS; the City of Allen acting under the Constitution
and laws of the State of Texas, and under the Charter of
the City, does have authority to regulate public utility
rate requests; and
WHEREAS, after having reviewed the materials presented
to the Council and having heard the presentation of Lone
Star Gas Company, it is the opinion of the City Council
of the City of Allen that such schedule of rates should
be suspended for a period of 120 days from June 11, 1979s
for further study,: investigation, presentation of evidence
and public hearing;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF ALLEN, TEXAS:
Pursuant to section 43 (d) of the Public Utility
Regulatory Act, the operation of the Lone Star Gas
Company's proposed rate schedules filed with the City
of Allen May 49 1979, is hereby suspended for a period
of 120 days from June 11, 1979s for further study,
investigation, presentation of evidence and public hearing.
ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Allen
on this the 17th day of May, 1979.
