RESOLUTION NO, 282
A RESOLUTION FINDING AND DETERMINING THAT IT IS
ADVISABLE TO AUTHORIZE AND CREATE THE ALLEN
INDUSTRIAL DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION; APPROVING
THE PROPOSED ARTICLES OF INCORPORATION;
SPECIFYING THE PUBLIC PURPOSE OR PURPOSES WHICH
THE CORPORATION MAY'FURTHER; AUTHORIZING THE COR-
PORATION TO'ACT ON BEHALF OF THE -CITY; AND

BE IT REMEMBERED that the City Council of the City of
Allen, in Collin County, Texas, met in open, public, special
session at the regular meeting place'of the Council in Rountree
Elementary School in said city, at 7:30 o'clock P.M., on November
26, 1979•

The Mayor announced that there had been filed with
the City Council on November 26, 1979, a written application
entitled, "Application for authorization and approval of the
creation of the Allen Industrial Development Corporation."
The following resolution was thereupon introduced by

M. B. Pierson and read in full:
RESOLUTION finding and determining that it is
advisable to authorize and create the Allen
Industrial Development Corporation; approving
the proposed Articles of Incorporation;
specifying the public purpose or purposes
which the Corporation may further; authorizing
the corporation to act on behalf of the City;
and appointing directors of the Corporation.
WHEREAS by the Texas Development Corporation Act of
1979 cities are authorized through their governing bodies to
create and utilize industrial development corporations; and
WHEREAS a written application entitled, "Application
for authorization and approval of the creation of the Allen
Industrial Development Corporation," hereto attached as Exhibit
"A", has been filed with the City Council on November 26, 1979:
NOW, THEREFORE, Be It Resolved by the City Council
of the City of Allen, in Collin County, Texas, acting as the
governing body of said city, as follows:
Section 1. It is hereby found and declared that the
existence,- development and expansion of commerce and industry are
essential to the economic growth of said city and to the full em-

ploy,,,.en t, welfare, and prosperity of its citizens; that the present
and health, safety, right to gainful employment, and
general welfare of the people of said city requires the promotion
and development of new and expanded commercial, industrial
and manufacturing enterprises; and that to promote, secure, develop
and retain private industrial, commercial, manufacturing and other
enterprises in said city, it is necessary and desirable to have an
industrial development corporation. It is hereby found and
determined that it is advisable that the Allen Industrial Development
Corporation (hereinafter referred to as the "Corporation") be
authorized and created.
Section 2. The Articles of Incorporation proposed
to be used in organizing the Corporation, hereto attached as
Exhibit B, are hereby approved.
Section 3. The Corporation may further on behalf
of said city the following public purpose or purposes: the
promotion and development of commercial, industrial and manu-
facturing enterprises to promote and encourage employment,
public health and the public welfare.
Section 4. The Corporation is hereby specifically
authorized to act on behalf of said city to further the public pur-
pose or purposes stated herein and in said Articles of Incorporation;
such action includes but is not limited to the issuance of bonds on
behalf of said city.

Section 5. The following persons are hereby appointed
as directors of the Corporation, for a term to be determined in
the bylaws of the Corporation, which term shall not exceed
six years:
