Min - City Council - 1973 - 08/02 - RegularREGULAR MEETING August 2, 1973 City Council, City of Allen Present. Mayor Frank Dagger Councilmen: C.D. Whitaker, Clifford Hart, Johnny Pannell, Johnnie Blankenship and Bob Lowman. Motion Bob Lowman Second Johnny Pannell that minutes of previous meeting be approved, with the following correction on Cdunafhadn Hartha �vcte pertaining to the phrohase of stay* Sire tnrck. The minutesshould have read that Mr. Hart preferred the tilt cab international chassis instead of the Ford Chassis. Motion Carried 5 For 0 Against. Public hearing was held on the rezoning request by Henry Tennyson, Jr., on 7.7 acres in the James L. Reed & Peter Wetsel Surveys. There was no opposition present to speak against this requests Motion Johnnia Blankeaehlp Second Clifford Hart that property be rezoned from it's present R-16 to 00 Classifaction. Motion Carried 5 For 0 Against. Motion C.D. Whitaker Second Bob Lowman that ordinance No 154 be approved changing the zoning on 17.208 acres in the Wm. Perrin Survey. Motion Carried 5 For 0 Against. Motion C.D. Whitaker Second Bob Lowman that no part time employees for the City be paid for holidays. Motion Carried 5 For 0 Against. Council agreed to advertise for bids on the painting of the interior and exterior of the Municipal Building and Fire Station; also the interior of the Police Department. Bids are to be opened at the SeptembeAk6th meeting. Motion Clifford Hart Second Bob Lawman that bills presented be approved. Motion Carried 5 For 0 Against. Plane were presented on a building proposed to be built by William F. Cheater on property owned by him that adjoins the Allen Texaco Station on the South. Since a garage would be in this building and is not permitted in the IR (Local Retail) Zoning. Motion C.D. Whitaker Secoad Johnny Blankenship that this property would have to be rezoned to permit construction of a building for this type use. Motion Carried 5 For 0 Against. Motion C.D. Whitaker Second Johnny Blankenship that a resoluation be ad- opted opposing the proposed Commuter Tax by the City of Dallas. Motion Carried 5 For 0 Against. Motion Johnnie Blankenship Second C.D.
