Present : Mayor: Frank Dugger
Councilmen: Clifford Hart, Johnny Pannell, Johnnie Blankenship.
Absent: C.D. Whitaker & Bob Lowman.
Motion Clifford Hart Second Johnny Pannell that minutes of previous meeting
be approved as read. Motion Carried 3 For 0 Against.
Public Hearing was held on zoning request by George W. Anderson changing the
zoning on Lots 9A -9B -10A -10B - Block D - Old Donation from R-16 to OC PD. Motion
Johnny Pannell Second Johnnie Blankenship that request be approved. Motion Carried
3 For 0 Against.
Public Hearing was held on zoning request by Hazel Long changing the zoning
on Late 4 -5 -6A -6O - Block C - Old Donation, Lot 6 - Block D - Old Donation from
R-16 to OC FD. Motion Carried 3 For 0 Against.
Motion Johnnie Blankenship Second Clifford Hart that Ordinance No. 155, changing
the zoning On 1.365 acres and 7.70 acres in the James L. Reed and Peter Weteel Surveys
from R-16 to OC Classifaction be approved. Motion Carried 3 For 0 Against.
E.T Boon appeared before Council to report on Jaycees progress on buying
playground equipment to be used in the City Park. Dr. Boon reported that equipment
totaling $2,055,00 had been selected for this project. Motion Johnnie Blankenship
Second Clifford Hart that Jaycees be authorized to order this equipment. Motion
Carried 3 For 0 Against.
Bids were opened on painting of the City Buildings,
Bardwell Brothers bid was $340.00 on painting the interior of the Police Department.
Holbrook Painting & Decorating bid ,
1. Library - $325.00
2. Police Department - $375.00
3. Municipal Building & Fire Station inside and out - $900.00
Council voted to table these bids untill the September 20th meeting.
Clarence Carter appeared before Council and spoke of a problem that exists
on sewerage overflowing from the Sewer Lift Pumps in Hillside Village and flowing
into the strain that runs through his property. Council advised Mr. Carter that
this problem would be corrected,
Motion Clifford Hart Second Johnnie Blankenship that bills presented be
approved. Motion Carried 3 For 0 Against.
Council voted to donate an amount of $100.00 to Library in memory of
Eugene McDermott.
Motion Johnnie Blankenship Second Johnny Pannell that meeting adjourn.
Motion Carried 3 For 0 Against.
