Min - City Council - 1973 - 09/20 - RegularREGULAR MEETING September 20, 1973 City Council, City of Allen Present: Mayor Frank Dogger Councmen: ilClifford Hart, Johnny Pannell, Johnnie Blankenship, Bob Lowman & C.D. Whitaker. Motion Bob Lowman Second Johnnie Blankenship that minutes of previous meeting be approved as read. Motion Carried 5 For 0 Against. Grady Holbrook appeared before Council in reference to his bid on the paint - of the City's Buildings. Council agreed to notify Mr. Holbrook that no decision would be made on his bid since Council was considering some alterations on some of the buildings included in his bid. Mr. Holbrook would possibly want to submit a new bid when this was finished. Neil I. Holm, J.D. Brown and John Gibson, representating IHSH Investment Corp- oration, along with City Engineer Walter F. Hicks, Jr. appeared before Council in regard to a Pro -rata arrangement on the water line constructed by the City along Jupiter Road. After discussion, Mr. Holm and Mr. Brown agreed that their prorate part of this line for Windridge Addition #1 -would be $14,045.76.as rec- comended by Walter F. Hicks. This amount was arrived at by estimating 944 persons in Windridge #1 times $14.89 per person. Windridge #2 was estimated to contain 992 persons upon completion. Motion Johnny Pannell Second Bob Lowman that October 4th be set an date for Public Hearing on Special Exception Request of William F. Cheater a Tract of land in the W.J. Jackson Survey - Abstract No 484. Motion Carried 5 For 0 Against. Library Board appeared before Council to discuss a proposed new building to house the Library Facilities. Librarian, Mary Tod presented plans that Board had drawn on this building. After discussion, Council requested that Libaray Board secure an estimate on the cost of constructing this building and report their findings to the Council at it's next regular meeting. Motion Clifford Hart Second C.D. Whitaker that bills presented be approved. Motion Carried 5 For 0 Against. Motion Bob Lowman Second C.D. Whitaker that an increase of $25.00 per month car expense be approved for Building Inspector, Vertries Richardson. Motion Carried 5 For 0 Against. 11 Council agreed to increase amount Firemen receive on sewer and garbage .10 K per month. Motion C.D. Whitaker Second Johngy Pannell that bid from Bardwell Brothers of $340.00 be accepted for painting the interior of the Police Station. Motion Carried 5 For 0 Against. Motion Bob Lowman Second C.D.
