A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALLEN, COLLIN
COUNTY, TEXAS, APPROVING THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF AN
AGREEMENT FOR THE FURNISHING OF TRAFFIC SIGNAL EQUIPMENT BY A
MUNICIPALITY, BY AND BETWEEN THE STATE OF TEXAS, ACTING BY AND
THROUGH THE TEXAS DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION ("STATE"),
AND THE CITY OF ALLEN, TEXAS ("CITY"); AUTHORIZING ITS EXECUTION
BY THE CITY MANAGER; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City owns and maintains a system of highways and roadways, including Alma Drive at -
Hedgecoxe Road; and,
WHEREAS, the City has requested the State to reimburse the cost of furnishing traffic signal equipment at
the intersection of Alma Drive at Hedgecoxe Road, Alma Drive at Comanche Drive, Exchange Parkway at
Andrews Parkway, Greenville Avenue at Ridgemont Drive, Hedgecoxe Road at Dutchess Drive, Main Street
at Allen Heights Drive, McDermott Drive at Wafters Road, Stacy Road at Andrews Parkway, Stacy Road at
Chelsea Boulevard(the"Project");and,
WHEREAS,the State and City wish to cooperate in the construction of this Project; and,
WHEREAS,the City desires that equipment be provided that is compatible with standard signal operation or
existing City equipment; and,

WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of the City and the State for the City to assist the State by furnishing
traffic signal equipment on the Project; and,
WHEREAS, on August 27th, 2020,the Texas Transportation Commission passed Minute Order No. 116292,
approving the Project; and,
WHEREAS, the Project has.been designated as a federal-aid project and; therefore, this agreement shall be
made in accordance with Federal Highway Administration(FHWA)procedures and regulations; and,
WHEREAS,the State is authorized to enter into an agreement with the City for the Project pursuant to Texas
Transportation Code §221.002; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council has been presented a proposed Agreement for the Furnishing of Traffic Signal
Equipment by a Municipality, by and between the State of Texas, acting by and through the Texas
Department of Transportation, and the City of Allen, Texas, which provides funding for furnishing traffic
signal equipment; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council is of the opinion and finds that the City Manager should be authorized to
execute an Agreement for the Furnishing of Traffic Signal Equipment by a Municipality, by and between the
State of Texas, acting by and through the Texas Department of Transportation, and the City of Allen, Texas,
which provides funding for furnishing traffic signal equipment at the intersection of Alma Drive at
Hedgecoxe Road, Alma Drive at Comanche Drive, Exchange Parkway at Andrews Parkway, Greenville
Avenue at Ridgemont Drive, Hedgecoxe Road at Dutchess Drive, Main Street at Allen Heights Drive,
McDermott Drive at Watters Road, Stacy Road at Andrews Parkway, Stacy Road at Chelsea Boulevard(CSJ
#0918-24-272)(Project Traffic Signal).
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALLEN,
COLLIN COUNTY,TEXAS,THAT:
SECTION 1. The Agreement for the Furnishing of Traffic Signal Equipment by a Municipality which
provides funding for furnishing traffic signal equipment, is hereby approved, and the City Manager is hereby
authorized to execute the Agreement for the Furnishing of Traffic Signal Equipment by a Municipality, by
and between the State of Texas, acting by and through the Texas Department of Transportation, and the City
of Allen, Texas, which provides funding for furnishing traffic signal equipment at the intersection of Alma
Drive at Hedgecoxe Road, Alma Drive at Comanche Drive, Exchange Parkway at Andrews Parkway,
Greenville Avenue at Ridgemont Drive, Hedgecoxe Road at Dutchess Drive, Main Street at Allen Heights
Drive, McDermott Drive at Watters Road, Stacy Road at Andrews Parkway, Stacy Road at Chelsea
Boulevard (CSJ# 0918-24-272) (Project Traffic Signal), and any amendments thereto, including any related
instruments on behalf of the City of Allen,Texas.
SECTION 2. This Resolution shall take effect from and after its passage.
