CALL TO ORDER President, Lonnie Thomas called the meeting to order at 8:06 a.m. 2. WORKSHOP • MEETING PURPOSE President, Lonnie Thomas, explained this meeting was for the purpose of leaming about the 4B Corporation and CDC, and to discuss the direction of the Board and how they will determine which projects will fit into the City's strategy for the next few years. • REVIEW CDC CHARTER Mr. Vargas gave an overview of the CDC Charter. • REVIEW 4B LAWS ESSENTIAL ELEMENTS Mr. Vargas discussed essential elements of the 4B law and purposes of the Corporation. • COUNCIL EXPECTATIONS FOR CDC Mr. Vargas discussed the expectations for CDC regarding several future or long-range projects that the City Council has expressed an interest. PAGE ALLEN CDC MINUTES FEBRUARY 9, 2002 • STAFF EXPECTATIONS FOR CDC Mr. Vargas discussed staff expectations of CDC with regards to current and future projects. • CDC VISION Facilitator Diem Thai helped the Board develop a mission statement for fiscal year 2001- 2002. After much discussion, the Board decided the following statement needed some additional fine-tuning and they will bring their suggestions to the next meeting and finalize the wording at that time. "The Allen Community Development Corporation as stewards of Public monies will add value to the Community by funding and implementing quality of life enhancement projects. We will develop pro -active and progressive projects based on Community input and needs."
