Min - City Council - 1976 - 04/15 - RegularRegular Session April 15, 1976 Allen City Council Present: Mayor Frank Dagger Councilmen: Bob Lowman, Mickey Pierson, Clifford Hart, H.C. Brooks, Jr., and C.D. Whitaker. Motion Bob Lowman Second Mickey Pierson that minutes of last meeting be approved as read. Motion carried 5 for 0 against. Motion C.D. Whitaker Second Mickey Pierson that bond election be approved and certified. Motion carried 5 for 0 against. Motion Mickey Pierson Second C.D. Whitaker that election of City officials be approved and certified. Motion carried 5 for 0 against. Counci scusled the request by Don Jones to overlap property set -back lines at -- ll�' ," Motion Mickey Pierson Second C.D Whitaker to approve request. Motion carried k for 2 against. Bob Iowmaa was against. J. D. Buchanan appeared and discussed bond certification. Motion C.D. Whitaker Second Bob Lowman to authorize J.D. Buchanan to puoceed with the necessary work on bonds. Motion carried 5 for 0 against. City Engineer Walter Hicks presented cost estimates on street repair needed in the City. Motion Bob Lowman Second C.D. Whitaker to make the necessary arrangements to begin with this program. Motion carried 5 for 0 egaint. Reese Brown of Fox and Jacobs discussed the fact that other cities permit Fox and Jacobs to use 27' instead of 31' strrets in subdivision. After much discussion Motion Mickey Pierson Second Bob Lowman to remain at 31' in the City of Allen. Motion carried 5 for 0 against. Motion Bob Lowman Second C.D. Whitaker to set May 20, 1976, as date for public hearing on request by Tom Cates. Motion carried 5 for 0 against. Motion Bob Lowman Second Mickey Pierson to pay bills. Motion carried 5 for 0 against. Mayor Dogger commended Councilmen C.D. Whitaker and Clifford Hart on the job they have done for the City of Allen. City Secretary Larry More swore in new Councilpersons Charles Chandler and Eileen Tollett and Mayor Frank Dugger. Motion Bob Iowman Second Mickey Pierson that meeting adjourn into executive session.
