Min - City Council - 1976 - 07/15 - RegularREG ULAR SESSION July 15, 1976 City Council, City of Allen Present: Mayor Frank Dagger Couneilpersons: Bob Lowman, Eileen Tollett, H.C. Brooks, Jr., and Charles Chandler. Absent: Mickey Pierson Motion Lowman Second Chandler that minutes of last meeting be approved as read. Motion carried 4 for 0 against. Motion Lowman Second Chandler to set August 5, 1976, as dated for public hearing on request for annexation of 15 acres on 2170 and Allen Heights Dr. owned by R.J.Potter. Motion carried 4 for 0 against. Fay Sandy of Allen Building Co. appeared and explained the problem her firm is having with lots located on cul de sacs. Mrs. Sandy stated that presently builders are required to build the house 30' from the shallowest part of the cul de sac. Mrs. Sandy advised that this allowed for no bak yard. Her request was that they be allowed to build the house 30' form the deepest part of the cul de sac. Motion Brooks Second Lowman to qpprove this request. This motion carried 4 for 0 against. Damon Griffin and representatives from Village Construction Co. appeared and asked what the City's plans were on paving Jupiter Road. Mayor Dagger advised that the City would work with any developer that wished to buildin the City. Mayor Dagger said that he felt the City was obligated to provide access roads for apartment dwellers that might live on Jupiter Road. Director of Public Works Jim Eaton advised that bids on a backhoe would be opened at next meeting. ' Motion Lowman Second Brooks to appeal Railroad Commissions decision when it is rendered. Motion carried 4 for 0 against. Motion Lowman Second Brooks to pay all bills with the exeption of two gas tickets. Motion carried 4 for 0 against. After much discussion Motion Lowman Second Brooks to adopt new sewer rates of $5.50 for residentiol and commercil,and 25¢ per 1000 over 10,000.. Motion carried 4 for 0 against. Motion Lowman Second Chandler that meeting adjourn. Motion carried 4 for 0 against. These minutes read andel approved on this the 5th day of August, 1976.
