Min - City Council - 1976 - 09/16 - RegularREGULAR SESSION September 16, 1976 City Council, City of Allen Present: Mayor Frank Dugger Councilpersons: Mickey Pierson, H,P,Brooks, Jr,, Eileen Tollett, Charles Chandler. Absent: Bob Lowman Motion Pierson Second Brooks that minutes of last meeting be approved as read. Motion carried 4 for 0 against. John Powers appeared and discussed low income housing for Allen. After much discussion, Council advised that it would be permissible for Mr. Powers to conduct a survey in the area, but that he should meet with the Planning and Zoning Commissioh when he is ready to discuss building procedures. Council looked at permit for moving a trailer house into Allen. Motion Pierson Second Tollet to deny request for permit for this trailer house. Motion carried 4 for 0 against. Motion Pierson Second Tollett to accept Community Affair grant. Motion carried 4 for 0 against. Mayor Dugger read a letter from Campbell and Assoc. in reference tot he City of Allen helping with the cost of sewage and water development in the area west of town. Motion Pierson Senond Brooks that this property must first be brought into the City limits of Allen and that the City would repay as area develops. And the lines would be subject to our inspection. Motion carried 4 for 0 against. Fire Chief Gentry advised Council that Fairview wants the Allen Police Dept. to dispatch for them. Council agrred that this would be acceptable. Moton Pierson Second Chandler to pay bills with the exception of one Shell ticket. Motion carried 4 for 0 against. Man appeared in reference to street problem in Windridge area. Council advised that they would contact Fox and Jacobs about this problem. Motion Pierson Second Brooks to adopt new fees for building permits per attached sheet. Motion carried 4 for 0 against. Police Chief Hancock advised that the new patrolman was George Brakefield, Chief Hancock asked permission to purchase new car from Gene Hays Motors in McKinney. Motion Pierson Second Chandler to purchase squad car from Hay Motors in McKinney for the amount of $5044.00. Motion carried 4 for 0 against. Motion Pierson Second Chandler to adjourn into executive session. Motion carried 4 for 0 against.
