A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALLEN, COLLIN
COUNTY, TEXAS, SUPPORTING THE TEXAS DEPARTMENT OF
TRANSPORTATION AND THEIR PLAN TO RECONSTRUCT FM 2786 (STACY
ROAD) FROM GREENVILLE AVENUE TO FM 1378; AUTHORIZING ITS
EXECUTION BY THE CITY MANAGER OR DESIGNEE; AND PROVIDING AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, rapid growth and development continues along the Stacy Road (FM 2786) corridor, and,
WHEREAS, the traffic volumes along Stacy Road (FM 2786) continue to increase and are approaching 20,000
vehicles per day east of Greenville Avenue (SH 5); and,
WHEREAS, the existing Stacy Road (FM 2786) is becoming functionally obsolete; and,
WHEREAS, the reconstruction of Stacy Road (FM 2786) will improve mobility and access for residents of the
City of Allen, as well as surrounding areas;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE TT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALLEN,
COLLIN COUNTY, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. The City of Allen supports the Texas Department of Transportation schematic design to
' recwnst uct Stacy Road from Greenville Avenue to FM 1378 as a 4 -lane divided roadway and to move forward
with the reconstruction as soon as practical.
SECTION 2. The City Secretary shall forward a certified copy of this Resolution to the Texas Department of
Transportation.
SECTION 3. This Resolution shall take effect immediately from and after its passage.
