A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALLEN, COLLIN
COUNTY, TEXAS, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO
INTERLOCAL COOPERATION AGREEMENTS ON BEHALF OF THE CITY
WITH OTHER UNITS OF LOCAL GOVERNMENT AND LOCAL COOPERATIVE
ORGANIZATIONS FOR COOPERATIVE PURCHASING; AND PROVIDE AN
EFFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City of Allen, is authorized to enter into interlocal cooperation agreements with units of
local government and cooperative purchasing organizations pursuant to Subchapter F. Chapter 271 of the
Texas Local Government Code; and,
WHEREAS, the City of Allen may participate in a cooperative purchasing program with another local
government or a local cooperative organization; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City desires to authorize the City Manager or designee to enter into
interlocal cooperation agreements on behalf of the City of Allen with other units of local government and
local cooperative organizations for cooperative purchasing; and,
WHEREAS, the City of Allen in purchasing goods and services under Subchapter F. Chapter 271 of the
Texas Local Government Code satisfies any state law requiring competitive bids for the purchase of goods or
services.
' NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALLEN,
COLLIN COUNTY, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. The City Manager, or designee, is hereby authorized to enter into interlocal cooperation
agreements with other units of local government and local cooperative organizations for cooperative
purchasing pursuant to Subchapter F. Chapter 271 of the Texas Local Government Code of the City of Allen,
and is hereby designated as the official representative to act for the City in all matters relating to the
Cooperative Purchasing Program.
SECTION 2. The City Manager, or designee, is authorized to act under the direction of, and on behalf of,
the City in all matters relating to any interlocal cooperation agreement for cooperative purchasing, to make
payments to another participating local government or a local cooperative organization or directly to a vendor
under a contract made pursuant to an interlocal cooperation agreement for cooperative purchasing pursuant to
Subchapter F. Chapter 271 of the Texas Local Government Code, and shall be responsible for a vendor's
compliance with provisions relating to the quality of items and terms of delivery to the extent provided in the
agreement between the City and another unit of local government or local cooperative organization for
cooperative purchasing.
SECTION 3. This resolution shall become effective upon its adoption.
