' AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALLEN, COLLIN
COUNTY, TEXAS, AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 2145-3-03; ADOPTING THE
2002-2022 COMPREHESWE PLAN BY AMENDING THE FUTURE LAND USE
PLAN; PROVIDING FOR A SEVERABH.ITY CLAUSE; PROVIDING FOR A
REPEALING CLAUSE; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, pursuant to Chapter 213 of the Texas Local Government Code, the City Council of the City of
Allen previously approved Ordinance No. 2145-3-03 adopting a comprehensive plan for the long term
development of the City of Allen titled the 2002-2022 Comprehensive Plan; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that it is prudent from time to time and in the public interest to review
land use development trends within the City and, if necessary, amend and update the City's comprehensive
plan; and,
WHEREAS, the Planning and Zoning Commission and the governing body of the City of Allen, in compliance
with the laws of the State of Texas and the ordinances of the City of Allen, have given the requisite notices by
publication and otherwise, and after holding due hearings and affording a full and fair hearing to all the people
within the City of Allen; and in the exercise of its legislative discretion, have concluded that the 2002-1012
Comprehensive Plan should be amended.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALLEN,
COLLIN COUNTY, TEXAS, THAT:
' SECTION 1. The Future Land Use Plan, as set forth in the 2002-2022 Comprehensive Plan, is hereby
amended in its entirety as set forth in Exhibit "A," attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference.
SECTION 2. The City Council directs that all boards, commissions and the city staff utilize the
information contained within the 2002-2022 Comprehensive Plan, as amended hereby, as a guideline upon
which to base development decisions and to disseminate that information to all interested parties.
SECTION 3 Should any word, sentence, paragraph, subdivision, clause, phrase or section of this
ordinance, be adjudged or held to be void or unconstitutional, the same shall not affect the validity of the
remaining portions of said ordinance, which shall remain in full force and effect.
SECTION4. All ordinances of the City of Allen, Collin County, Texas, in conflict with the provisions of
this ordinance be, and the same are hereby, repealed; provided, however that all other provisions of said
ordinances not in conflict with the provisions of this ordinance shall remain in full force and effect.
SECTION 5. This ordinance shall take effect immediately from and after its passage, and it is accordingly
so ordained.
