Min - City Council - 1979 - 04/12 - Regularcm CODHCIL April 12, 1979 Present: Mayor M.B. Pierson Councilmen: Joe Farmer, Charles Chandler, H.C. Breaks, Jr., and H.R. Daugherty Absent: Olean Andrew Motion Chandler Second Daugherty to approve the minutes of the previous meeting. Motion carried 4 for 0 against. The results of the City Officers Election of April 7, were canvassed with the following votes cast for the 8 candidates: 424 votes Place 1. Joe Tem Farmer 393 Place 3. H.R. Daugherty 371 Place 5. Winston Stallings 188 Rex Womack 238 Place 6. Bill Petty 81 Richard L. Chumbley 243 Damon Griffin, Jr. 52 Mike Claytor 52 Motion Farmer Second Chandler to certify the results of the April 7 election. Motion carried 4 for 0 against. The Oath of Office was then given by the City Secretary to Joe Farmer, H.R. Daugherty, Rex Womack and Richard L. Chumbley. For his service to the City from 1975-79, retiring member H.C. Brooke, Jr., a plaque was presented by the mayor. John Richardson and James Bartholomew of HDR Engineering firm presented to the council a preliminary study of the Public Building Program. Informatics. from this study will be used along with Wisembsker, Fix's Water, Sewer sad Street Study to work up the Bend Election. A workshop was set for Saturday, April 21st, 9:00 A.M. The Mayor Pro Tem was elected by the new council with a nomination from Daugherty, for Joe Farmer. Motion was made by Chandler Second by Chumbley to elect Farmer by acclamation. Motion carried unanimously. Motion Daugherty Second Womack to adjourn. Motion carried 6 for 0 against. Council than went into Executive Session.
