' A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALLEN, COLLIN
COUNTY, TEXAS, APPROVING THE SUBMITTAL OF APPLICATIONS TO THE
TEXAS DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION STATEWIDE
TRANSPORTATION ENHANCEMENT PROGRAM FOR PROJECT
NOMINATIONS PROVIDED BY THE SAFE, ACCOUNTABLE, FLEXIBLE AND
EFFICIENT — TRANSPORTATION EQUITY ACT: A LEGACY FOR USERS
(SAFETEA — LU); AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE ALL
DOCUMENTS NECESSARY TO COMPLETE THE APPLICATIONS; AND
PROVIDING FOR AN EFFCTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the Texas Department of Transportation recently issued the 2005-06 Statewide Transportation
Enhancement Program call for projects; and,
WHEREAS, the City of Allen, Texas, desires to nominate three (3) median landscaping construction projects
(Main Street from Allen Heights Drive to Angel Parkway; Exchange Parkway from Watters Road to State
Highway 5; and Greenville Avenue from Exchange Parkway to Stacy Road) in the latest Statewide
Transportation Enhancement Program call for projects; and,
WHEREAS, medians that are irrigated and landscaped with native trees and plants will have a positive
aesthetic impact on the community and the transportation system; and,
' WHEREAS, matching funds of at least 20% of the total of the selected projects) will be made available
from our Capital Improvement Program; and,
WHEREAS, the City commits to the projects' development, implementation, construction, maintenance, and
financing.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALLEN,
COLLIN COUNTY, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1. The submission of three individual nominations to the Texas Department of Transportation
Statewide Transportation Enhancement Program is approved and the City Manager is authorized to execute
all documents necessary for the submission.
SECTION 2. This resolution shall become effective from and after its passage.
