A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALLEN, COLLIN
COUNTY, TEXAS, APPROVING AN INTERLOCAL COOPERATION
PURCHASING AGREEMENT BETWEEN CITY OF ALLEN AND CITY OF
DESOTO; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City of Allen, Texas (hereinafter "City"), pursuant to the authority granted by Chapter 791 et
seq. of the hnerlocal Cooperation Act, as amended, desires to participate in an Interlocal Cooperation
Purchasing Agreement with the City of Desoto, Texas (hereinafter referred to as "Parties"); and,
WHEREAS, Chapter 791 of the Texas Government Code, as amended, authorizes interlocal agreements
between local governments for the purchase of goods and services; and,
WHEREAS, a local government that purchases goods and services under Section 791.025 satisfies the
requirement of the local government to seek competitive bids for the purchase of goods and services; and,
WHEREAS, the Parties are of the opinion that participation in the Interlocal Cooperation Purchasing
Agreement will be highly beneficial to the taxpayers of the local government through the efficiencies and
potential savings to be realized.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALLEN,
COLLIN COUNTY, TEXAS, THAT:
' SECTION 1. The City Council of the City of Allen having been presented with the Interlocal Cooperation
Agreement attached hereto, and finding that the same is in the best interests of the City, does hereby approve
the same.
SECTION 2. The City Council hereby authorizes its City Manager to execute the hiterlocal Cooperation
Agreement attached hereto.
SECTION 3. This resolution shall become effective immediately from and after its passage.
DULY PASSED AND APPROVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALLEN, COLLIN
COUNTY, TEXAS, ON THIS THE le DAY OF MARCH, 2006.
