Home My WebLink AboutR-4158-5-25 RESOLUTION NO. 4158-5-25(R) A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALLEN, COLLIN COUNTY, TEXAS, ESTABLISHING FEES AND RATES FOR RESIDENTIAL AND COMMERCIAL SOLID WASTE COLLECTION SERVICES; PROVIDING A REPEALING CLAUSE; PROVIDING A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the Code of Ordinances of the City of Allen authorizes the City Council to amend the fees and rates for solid waste and household hazardous waste collection services by Resolution. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALLEN, COLLIN COUNTY, TEXAS, THAT: SECTION 1. The City Council of the City of Allen, Texas, hereby establishes the following residential and commercial solid waste and household hazardous waste collection service fees: (1) Residential solid waste services (Garbage, bulk, recycling, yard waste, Christmas tree composting, and Household Hazardous Waste (HHW)) Residential rate per month to CWD $9.75 Residential rate per month to City $18.52 Residential Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) rate per month to City $0.57 Senior rate (residential customers who are 65 years of age or older and who own or lease and occupy the residence) per month, 20% discount from standard rate $14.81 Senior rate Household Hazardous Water rate per month to City $0.46 Additional garbage poly cart per month to CWD $5.26 Additional garbage poly cart per month to City (limit of two additional) $10.90 Additional recycle poly-cart per month to CWD $2.71 Additional recycle poly-cart per month to City (limit of two additional) $2.57 Replace lost/stolen garbage or recycle poly-cart to CWD $97.69 Replace lost/stolen red HHW bin provided by City for collections $65.00 (2) Commercial solid waste services All commercial costs in Paragraph 2 include the City of Allen's 15% Franchise Fee. All commercial services in Paragraph 2 that include waste disposal include a $38.85 per ton disposal fee. This $38.85 fee per ton is reimbursed to the city by the franchised solid waste services provider. The city pays both commercial and residential disposal fees at the same $38.85 fee per ton. The customer rebate from profits varies from 40 to 85 percent of the net value of the commodity sold. The standard profit-sharing template is incorporated into the current franchised waste carrier’s contract. For unique recycling requirements, the franchisee will develop special cost proposals that the City will review before presenting to the customer. Unique situations include special recycling circumstances such as when businesses are striving for Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification for facilities under construction or renovation.
