A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALLEN, COLLIN
COUNTY, TEXAS, AUTHORIZING AN AGREEMENT WITH THE STATE OF TEXAS,
OFFICE OF THE GOVERNOR, CRIMINAL JUSTICE DIVISION TO ACCEPT THE
LOCAL LAW ENFORCEMENT BLOCK GRANT - EQUIPMENT ONLY, GRANT
PROGRAM, IF AWARDED; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, it ism the best interest of the residents of the City of Allen and neighbors to have an Automated
Latent Identification System to be utilized by the City of Allen Police Department Criminalist Unit; and,
WHEREAS, the City of Allen has considered the proposed application for State and Federal Assistance for said
project, not to exceed the amount of Ten Thousand Dollars ($10,000) that was submitted to the Office of the
Governor, Criminal Justice Division for the Local Law Enforcement Block Grant - equipment only; and,
WHEREAS, the City of Allen has agreed to provide matching funds up to ten percent (100/.) of the grant award not
to exceed Ten Tbousand Dollars ($10,000); and,
WHEREAS, the City of Allen agreed that in Ore event of loss or misuse of the Criminal Justice Division funds, the
City of Allen assures that the funds will be returned to the Criminal Justice Division in full.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALLEN,
COLLIN COUNTY, TEXAS, THAT:
' SECTION 1. The City of Allen approves the submission of the grant application for the Automated Latent
Identification System to the Office of the Governor, Criminal Justice Division for the Local Law Enforcement Block
Gra rt for equipment only m the amount not to exceed Ten Thousand Dollars ($10,000).
SECTION 2. This Resolution shall become effective immediately from and after its passage.

COUNTY, TEXAS, ON THIS THE 5"r DAY OF APRIL, 2001.

This Acceptance Notice should be signed and returned to the Criminal Justice Division (CJD) by July 2, 2001.
The grantee will not receive any grant funds until this notice is executed and returned to CJD.
The authorized official, financial officer, and project director, referred to below as grantee officials, for this
grant project must read the following and indicate agreement by signing this Acceptance Notice below:
• The authorized official for the grantee accepts the grant award.
• The grantee officials agree to the terms of the grant, including the rules and documents adopted by
reference in Title I, Part I, Chapter 3, Texas Administrative Code.
• It is understood that a violation of any term of the grant may result in CJD placing a temporary hold on
grant funds, permanently deobligating all or part of the grant funds, requiring reimbursement for funds
already spent, or barring the organization from receiving future grants.
• The grantee officials understand that they must satisfy all special conditions placed on this grant
before receiving any funds.
• The grant must have three separate persons designated to serve as grant officials.

The financial officer and the project director designated in your grant application have been informed of the award by separate letter.
The original Grant Acceptance Notice enclosed must be signed by the three designated grantee officials and returned to CJD within 95
