WHEREAS, it ism the best interest of the residents of the City of Allen and neighbors to have an Automated Latent Identification System to be utilized by the City of Allen Police Department Criminalist Unit; and, WHEREAS, the City of Allen has considered the proposed application for State and Federal Assistance for said project, not to exceed the amount of Ten Thousand Dollars ($10,000) that was submitted to the Office of the Governor, Criminal Justice Division for the Local Law Enforcement Block Grant - equipment only; and, WHEREAS, the City of Allen has agreed to provide matching funds up to ten percent (100/.) of the grant award not to exceed Ten Tbousand Dollars ($10,000); and, WHEREAS, the City of Allen agreed that in Ore event of loss or misuse of the Criminal Justice Division funds, the City of Allen assures that the funds will be returned to the Criminal Justice Division in full. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALLEN, COLLIN COUNTY, TEXAS, THAT: ' SECTION 1. The City of Allen approves the submission of the grant application for the Automated Latent Identification System to the Office of the Governor, Criminal Justice Division for the Local Law Enforcement Block Gra rt for equipment only m the amount not to exceed Ten Thousand Dollars ($10,000). SECTION 2. This Resolution shall become effective immediately from and after its passage.
