The Called - Special Session of the Allen City Council
was called to order by Mayor Pierson at 7:31 p.m. on Thursday,
August 30, 1982 at Rountree Elementary School, 800 E. Main
Street.
Public Hearing: FY 1982 - 83
Budget for the City of Allen (Agenda Item II)
Mayor Pierson advised all present that this meeting had
been called per the requirements of the Allen City Charter to
hold a public hearing on the proposed Fiscal Year 1982 - 1983
Budget for the City of Allen.
Mayor Pierson opened the public hearing.
Rick Alexander, 806 Cypress, spoke before the Council on
the proposed budget and asked questions regarding the part-
time weed control person authorized in the budget.
The Council discussed with the City Manager the status of
research and preparation of information on bond indebtness and
debt service requirements for the City, as well as the market
for the sale of bonds. City Manager McCarty advised the Council
that the information was being compiled by the hond agent at this
time and would be provided for the Council's review prior to the
September 16th City Council meeting.
With no one else wishing to speak before the Council on the
proposed budget, Mayor Pierson closed the public hearing.
There was no action taken on this item.
Public Hearing: FY 1982 - 83
Revenue Sharing Funds Budget
(Agenda Item III)
Mayor Pierson advised all present that this public hearing
was being held in accordance with the revenue sharing requirements.
Mayor Pierson advised that the revenue sharing budget was located
on page 9 of the proposed FY 1982 - 83 Budget document.
Mayor Pierson stated that the portion of the revenue sharing
budget set aside for the Senior Citizens Group in the amount of
$2,750 had been approved by the Council at their last regular
meeting.
Mayor Pierson opened the public hearing on the Fiscal Year
1982 - 1983 Revenue Sharing Budget.

Revenue Sharing Funds Budget (continued) (Agenda Item III)
Mson,
Rick Alexander, 806 Cypress, spoke before the Council on
the Revenue Sharing Budget and advised that he would like to
see a larger anticipated balance remaining in case a special
project for community service may arise during the fiscal year.
With no one else wishing to speak before the Council on
the proposed revenue sharing budget, Mayor Pierson closed the
public hearing.
There was no action taken on this item.
Adjournment
MOTION: Upon a motion made by Councilman Daugherty and seconded
by Mayor Pro Tem Farmer, the Council voted 7 - 0 to
adjourn the regular session of the Allen City Council
into Executive Session at 8:00 p.m. The motion carried.
Executive Session (Agenda Item IV)
In accordance with Article 6252-17, V.A.T.C.S. (Open Meeting
Law), Section 2(g), the Council convened into Executive Session
at 8:10 p.m. to discuss matters pertaining to personnel.
The Executive Session adjourned at 8:25 p.m.
