AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING A BASE RATE AREA
FOR TELEPHONE SERVICE IN THE CITY OF ALLEN
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALLEN:
Section 1: That approval is hereby granted for the estab-
lishment of a Base Rate Area as shown on the map attached hereto
and made a part hereof. Every customer located within this Base
Rate Area shall be entitled to local exchange telephone service at
the base rates duly authorized by this Council.
Section 2: That standard excess mileage charges shall
apply for service furnished customers within the City of Allen
but located outside of this Base Rate Area. In no case shall the
Telephone Company apply its standard excess mileage charges for
service within the aforesaid Base Rate Area.
Section 3: That the Base Rate Area of the exchange may
be extended by the Telephone Company whenever density of develop-
ment may justify,such extension, but in no case shall the area
shown on the attached map be diminished without authorization by
the City Council. A -map showing the current Base Rate Area shall
be maintained in the business office of the Telephone Company.
Section 4: That the establishment of the aforesaid Base
Rate Area shall become effective on the first billing date after
final passage of this ordinance.
Section 5: That nothing in this ordinance contained
shall be construed as in any mainer, now or hereafter, limiting
or modifying the right and power of the City under the law to
regulate the rates charged for local exchange telephone service
by the Southwestern Bell Telephone Company for its services within
the City of Allen, Texas.

An Ordinance of the City of Allen Prescribing
Rates and Charges for Local Exchange Telephone Service Furnished
by Southwestern Bell Telephone Company
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALLEN:
Section l: Southwestern Bell Telephone Company is authorized to con-
tinue in effect the following schedule of rates for local exchange telephone service
until the Allen exchange is converted to dial operation:
Class of Service
One Party Business Flat Rate.
Multi -Party Business Flat Rate
Business Extension Station Flat
One Party Residence Service
Two Party Residence Service
Multi -Party Residence Service
Residence Extension Station
Commercial PBX Trunk
Commercial PBX Station
Semi -Public Service (Guarantee)
Local Messages Under Guarantee - each
Local Messages Over Guarantee - each
Coin Telephone Charge per Local Message
Extension Semi -Public - Coin
Extension Semi -Public - Non -Coin

(a) The rate for a flat rate PBX trunk is one and one-half times the
rate for one party business flat rate service.
Section 2: Southwestern Bell Telephone Company shall place in effect
the following schedule of rates for local exchange telephone service on its first
billing date after the Allen exchange is converted to dial operation:

(a) The rate for a flat rate PBX trunk is one and one-half times the
rate for one party business flat rate service.
Section 3: Nothing in this ordinance contained shall be construed now
or hereafter as limiting or modifying, in any manner, the right and power of
the city under the law to regulate the rates and charges of Southwestern Bell
Telephone Company.

Dear Sir:
As a result of an ordinance passed by the City Council
of the City of Allen on May 10,1956, for the purpose of ex-
tending the local calling scope of the Allen exchange to in-
clude calls to the McKinney exchange, the following schedule
of rates for local service would apply to the Allen exchange
based on the present McKinney exchange rates:

As set forth in the ordinance, rates for extension of
the calling scope of the Allen exchange to include local calls
to McKinney will not become effective until that service is
presided by Southwestern Bell Telephone Co.,and will be based
on the rates in effect in McKinney at that time.
