"AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE ANNEXATION TO TH, CITY
OF ALLEN, TEXAS, A CERTAIN LAND IN THE DAVID WETSEL
SURVEv, ABSTRACT #977, IN THE WILLIAM PERRIN SURVEY,
ABSTRACT #708, IN THE RUFUS SEWALL SURVEY, ABSTRACT
#875, IN THE THOMAS G. KENNEDY SURVEY, ABSTRACT #500,
AND IN THE MICFI'AL LEE SURVEY, ABSTRACT #543, 70MIN
WORTY, TEXAS, CONTIGUOUS AND ADJACENT TO SAID TUffN,
AS FULLY DESCRIBED IN SAID ORDINANCE, UPON THE PETITION
DULY PRESENTED BY THE OWNERS OF SAID TERRITORY AND
GRANTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL, WHICH SAID TERRITORY SO
ANNEXED IS VACANT AND WITHOUT RESIDENTS, AND ON WHICH
LESS THAN THREE QUALIFIFD VOTERS RESIDE.°
Whereas, Gentry T. Jones, and wife, Mary R. Jones, of Collin
Nounty, Texas, are the owners of the following described property
which adjoins the City of Allen, and is not more than one-half('J)
mile in width, have duly petitioned the city council of the City
of Allen, texas, to extend the present city limits so as to include
said territory as a part of the City of Allen, Texas, to -wit:
SITUATED in Collin County, Texas, and being a part of the
David Wetsel Survey, Abstract No. 977, the William Perrin
Survey, Abstract No. 7089 the Rufus Sewall Survey, Abstract
No. 875, the Thomas G. Kennedv Survey, Abstract No, 500, the
Micheal Lee Survev, Alstract No. 543,
BEGINNING at the southwest corner Of the David Wetsel Survey,
said corner also being the southwest corner of 8.09 acres of
land belonging to the City of Allen;
THENCE EAST with the South line of the David Wetsel Survey to
a point in the East line of Old Highway 6; -
THENCE in a Northeasterly and a northerly direction with the
East line of said Highway and conforming to the meanderings
thereof to a point in the South rif:,ht of way line of F. M.

THENCE in an —40 direction with the south right of way
line of F. M. Highway, and conforming to the curves and
irregularitie e ei„gbthe intersection of said highway with

a point in the West right of way line of Old
Highway 75, which highway is now known as Highway 5;
THENCE in a southwesterly direction with the West right of way
line of said hi heat/ and conforming to the curves and irregularities
therein to a point on the North line of a county road, the center
line of which county road is the south line of the Rufus Sewall

THINCE WEST with the NQ th line of said county road to a
point in the East right of way line of U. S. Highway 75;
THENCE in a northerly direction with the east right of way line
of U. S. Highway 75 and conforming to the irregularities
therein to a point in the South city limits of the City of
Allen;
THENCE WEST with the South city limits of said City of Allen
to a point in the West right of way line of U. S. Highwa7, 75;
THENCE in a southerly direction with the West right of way line
of U. S. Highway 75 and conforming to the curves and irregularities
therein to a point on the South line of a county road, the center
of which county road is the South line of the Rufus Sewall Survey;

THENCE EAST with the South line of said county road to
the intersection thereof with tae East right of we, line
of Old Highway 75 which is new known as Highway 5;.
THENCE in a northeasterly direction with the East right
of way line of said hi€hwav andconforming to the curves
and irregularities therein to a point in the Southwest
corner of a tract of land owned by Gedry T. Jones;
THENCE OAST with the South line of said tract owned by
Gentry T. Jones to a point in the vest line of the David
Wetsel Survey, and point being the Northwest corner of
the above mentioned 8.09 acrestract owned by the City
of Allen;
THENCE South with the West line of the David Wetsel
Survey and the West line of the said tract belonging to
the City of Allen, to place of beEinning.
And whereas, said petition has bean duly accepted by the City
Council of Allen, Texas, and meets all the requirments of the law,
and whereas, it is the desire of the parties that such area be a
part of corporate limits of the City of Allen, Texas.
Now, therefore, be it ordained by the City Council of the

City of Allen, that the above described land be, and the same is
hereby annexed to, andmade a part of the City of Allen, 'Texas,
and the boundaries of said city of Allen, Texas, are hereby extended
to include the above described territory within the City oi' Allen,
Collin County, Texas, and inhabitants thereof shall hereafter be
entitled to all the rights and privileges of other citi;ensof the
Citv of Allen, and they- shall be abound by all ordinances and law&,
regulations and resolutions of the City of Allen, Texas.
The fact that there is an imperative public need and necessity
that the above described territory be annexed to the Citv of Allen,
and that time is of the essence, creates an emergency and the
reading and passing of this ordinance at three separate meetings
is hereby suspended and this ordinance shall tale offset and be in
full force from and after the passage at a single meeting and the
approval thereof of the maypv.
Upon motion bade by Councilman Carl Marion and duly seconded
by Councilman W.E. Ford , and by unanimous vote of the members
of the Citv council of Allen, favored such motion, including the
following members in attendance; Carl Marion

the above ordinance was passed and approved on this the _day
of Feburary , 1961; by the City Council of Allen, Texas,

TO THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF ALLEN:
Now comes Gentry T. Jones and wife, Mary R. Jones, of
Collin County, Texas, and being the owners and all of the owners,
of the hereinafter described land, except that portion of same
lying within the boundaries of public highways and public roads;
hereby petition the governing body of the City of Allen to annex
said land to the City of Allen and in support thereof would show
as follows;

line of U. Highway 75 and conforming to the curves and
irregularities therein to a point on the South line of a county
road the center line of which county road -is the South line of
the Rufus Sewall Survey;
THENCE EAST with the South line of said county road to the
intersection thereof with the ;i.ast right of 'ray line of Old
Highway 75 which highway is now known as Highway 5;
THENCE in a northeasterly -direction with the Plast right
of way line of said highway and conforming to the curves and
irregularities therein to a point in the Southwest corner of
a bract of land owned by Gentry T. Jones;
THENCE EAST with the South line of said tract owned by
Gentry T. Jones to a point in the West line of the ')avid Wetsel
Survey, said point being the Northwest corner of the above
mentioned 8.09 acre tract owned by the City of Allen;
THENCE South with the lest line of the David detsel Survey
and the .lest line of the said tract belonging to the City of
Allen, to the place of beginning.

Said land above described is less than one-half mile in
width, and is vacant and without residents and on which no less
than three (3) qualified voters reside; and which land is con-
tingous and adjacent to the present City Limits of the City of
Allen, and lies to the East, South and West thereof.
WHEREFORE, you are respectfully petitioned and requested
that a hearing be held hereon as required by law, and that this
petition be granted, and that said land and territory above
described, by proper orders, be received and annexed to, and
made a part of the City of Allen, Texas.

BEFORE ME, the undersigned authority, a Notary Public, in and
for Collin County, Texas, on this day personally appeared Gentry T.
Jones and Mary R. Jones, his wife, both known to me to be
the persons whose names are subscribed to the foregoing instrument,
and acknowledged to me that they each executed the same for the pur-
poses and consideration therein expressed, and the said Mary R.
Jones, wife of the said Gentry T. Jones, having been examined by me
privily and apart from her husband, and having the same fully ex-
plained to her, she, the said Mary R. Jones, acknowledged such
instrument to be her act and deed, and she declared that she had
willingly signed the same for the purposes and consideration therein
expressed, and that she did not wish to retract it.
GIVEN UNDER MY HAND AND SEAL OF OFFICE, this the day of
February, 1961.
