ORDINANCE NO.4YO
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE CORPORATE LIMITS OF THE
TOWN OF ALLEN, ANNEXING CERTAIN TERRITORY CONTIG-
UOUS TO AND ADJOINING THE TOWN OF ALLEN, AND PRO-
VIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE OF THIS ORDINANCE
WHEREAS, the growth and development of the area adjacent
to the Town of Allen is progressing at a rapid rate and
this development is expected to continue in the future,
and
WHEREAS, the protection of the public health and general
welfare of the people of the Town of Allen requires that
such development be in an orderly manner and controlled
by the Town of Allen;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
TOWN OF ALLEN:
SECTION I. That after the third and final passage of
this Ordinance the boundary limits of the Town of Allen
shall be described as amended to include:
SITUATED in Collin County, Texas, and being a
strip of land 5 feet wide on either side of a
center line, which center line is described as
follows:
BEGINNING at the intersection of the South cor-
porate limits of the Town of Allen as the same
now exist in the West edge of U. S. Highway 75
and the center of Bethany Road;
THENCE in a Westerly direction with the center
line of Bethany Road and with the meanders
thereof to a point 5 feet East of the center
line of Farm -to -Market Road 2478;
THENCE in a Northerly- direction with the mean-
ders of and at all times 5 feet East of the
center line of Farm -to -Market Road 2478 to the
intersection of Farm -to -Market 2478 and State
Highway 121;
THENCE in a Northeasterly direction with the
center line of State Highway 121 to its inter-
section with the center line of the South bound
traffic lane of U. S. Highway 75;
THENCE in a Southwesterly direction following
the center line of the South bound traffic lane
of U. S. Highway 75 to its intersection with
the North boundary line of the present corpor-
ate limits of the Town of Allen.
SECTION II. After the effective date of this Ordinance
all property included within the areas described in Sec-
tion I hereof shall be a part of the Town of Allen and
shall bear its proportionate part of the taxes levied by
the Town of Allen, and the inhabitants hereof shall be en-
titled to all the rights and privileges of all citizens
and shall be bound by the Acts, Ordinances and Resolutions
of the City.
SECTION III. This Ordinance to be read and approved by
the City Council of the Town of Allen at three (3) sepa-
rate, regular meetings and such Ordinance shall be recorded
in the Office of the County Clerk of Collin County, Texas,
and shall be effective immediately after its third and
final reading.
