REGULAR MEETING

' Call to Order and Announce a Quorum is Present
With a quorum of the committee members present, the regular meeting of the Public Art
Committee was called to order by Chair Benson at 6:04 p.m. on Tuesday, January 17, 2017 in the
Parks and Recreation Conference Room of Municipal Courts, Parks and Recreation Building at
301 Century Parkway, Allen, Texas.
Action Items
1. Approve minutes from the November 15, 2016, Regular Meeting
MOTION: Upon a motion made by committee member Raines and seconded by committee
member Barry, the committee voted six (6) for and none (0) opposed to accept
minutes from the November 15, 2016 regular meeting as presented.
Discussion Items
2. Update on Current Projects
Matt McComb shared that the Watters Branch Community Park construction project is currently
out to bid. The intention is to take the construction, artificial turf, art fabrication and installation
contracts to City Council all at the same time. The timeline will be determined by the bids
received on the construction project.
' Mr. McComb also reported that he is still working with the artist, Joshua Winer, regarding
installation dates, but he is pushing to have the installation complete by the pool opening which is
scheduled for Memorial Day weekend.

3. Discussion on Future Projects
Park Planner, Lam Cuellar, presented a potential future public art project at Windridge Park.
She provided background regarding the park and shared handouts, including the park layout and
also examples of other seating walls that have incorporated public an. The committee supported
moving forward with exploring the opportunity in conjunction with the Arts Alliance and the
community to place public art at the future Windridge Park.
The committee determined it would be helpful to see physical locations so the next meeting will
be a tour of possible locations for future public art.
