Call to Order and
Announce a Ouorum is Present (Agenda Item D
Willi a quorum of the Councilmembers, Trustees and Board members present, the Triad Meeting of the
Allen City Council, Allen Independent School District (AISD) Board of Trustees and Chamber of Commerce
Executive Board was called to order at 6:15 p.m. on Monday, October 25, 1999, in the Library of the Allen
High School, 300 Rivercrest Boulevard, Allen, Texas.
Update Regarding the Natatorium (Agenda Item ID
Parks and Recreation Director Don Horton and Brinkley Sargent representative Patrick Schoenfeldt
presented the plans for the new natatorium as designed by Brinkley Sargent Architects.

Update Regarding the School Resource Officer Program (Agenda Item III)
Police Chief Bill Rushing provided an update on the School Resource Officer (SRO) Program. A
supervisory position will be created and funded through a grant option. The SRO program will be fully staffed
by the beginning of the next school year.
Update Regarding Security Issues (Agenda Item IV)
Superintendent Erwin introduced David Leopard with AISD Protective Services Mr Leopard
reviewed the mission statement and goals for protective services at AISD
Update Regarding the Allen Chamber of Commerce (Agenda Item V)
Chair Stenlake reviewed the plans for the Central Business District. Board member Kelley explained
the Neo -traditional concept for a mixed-use plan The Executive Board and Trustees registered support of this
new concept. Leadership Allen is considering this as its project for 1999
The Planning and Zoning Commission will begin the planning process for this project in the next year.
Items of Interest (Agenda Item VI)
Board member McCloud highlighted events planned for the December 4 Home for the Holidays
Saturday Activities will include the decorating and sale of Christmas trees by the Allen Arts students,
Rudolph Run, tree lighting, holiday parade and Kiwams' Breakfast
Board member Green is the Chair -Elect for the 2000 Chamber Executive Board.
Adiourn (Agenda Item VII)
The Triad Meeting of the Allen City Council, Allen Independent School District Board of Trustees and
Chamber of Commerce Executive Board was adjourned at 7 42 p.m. on Monday, October 25, 1999.
