Call to Order and Announce a Quorum is Present.
With a quorum of the members present, the Triad Meeting was called to order by
Steve Terrell, Mayor, Allen City Council,
John Garcia, President, Allen ISD Board of Trustees, and
John Green, Chair, Chamber Executive Committee,
at 6:20 p.m. on Monday, October 30, 2000, in the Multi -Purpose Room at Anderson Elementary,
located at 305 N. Alder Drive, Allen, Texas
Update Regarding the Don Rodenbaugh Natatorium and the Malone Community Park
Mr. Don Horton, Director of Parks and Recreation, City of Allen, presented a status report on the Don
Rodenbaugh Natatorium. Concrete has been poured for the parking lot. The Contractor has completed
the excavation of the pools and the pouring of the piers for the leisure pool. Completion date is set for
the end of August 2001 Mr. Horton reviewed the layout of Malone Park.

3. Update Regarding the Northern Lights Program.
Sharon Mayer, President, Chamber of Commerce, reviewed the location, sponsors and traffic flow for
the Northern Lights program The Chamber is hoping for 40,000 vehicles in a 46 day period.
4. Status of Drug Prevention Programs.
William S Rushing, Chief of Police, City of Allen, presented information on various drugs in the
community and the commitment of the community through communication, education and
enforcement. A drug summit report will be discussed at our next meeting.
5. Update on Demographics and Growth Projections.
Bret McCullough, Chief Building Official, City of Allen, and Bob Curtis, Executive Director of
Facilities & Maintenance, Allen ISD, discussed City demographics and AISD growth projections.
6. Opportunities for Joint Projects.
Peter H. Vargas, City Manager, City of Allen, suggested possible joint projects:
a) Youth Development Programs
b) Fleet Maintenance Facility / Program
C) Joint Purchasing Opportunity
d) Health Insurance
7. Expectations of the Boards.
Peter H. Vargas, City Manager, City of Allen, reported on the following future expectations:
a) Shorter agenda; workshop setting
b) ACO partnerships with city, school, etc.
C) Strategic planning
Jenny Preston, Superintendent, Allen ISD, reported on the School District's expectations:
a) Go back to vision statement
b) Make youth an issue
C) Stay focused
8. Approve Future Meeting Dates.
Monday, January 22, 2001 — Allen ISD will host
Topic: Youth Issues
Monday, April 2, 2001 — Chamber of Commerce will host
Monday, August 13, 2001 — City of Allen will host
9. Adjourn.
