Call to Order and Announce a Quorum is Present.
With a quonirn of the members present, the Triad Meeting was called to order by
Steve Terrell, Mayor, Allen City Council,
John Garcia, President, Allen ISD Board of Trustees, and
Steve Matthews, Chair, Chamber Executive Committee,
at 6:13 p.m. on Monday, April 2, 2001, in the Multi -Purpose Room at Anderson Elementary, located at
305 N. Alder Drive, Allen, Texas.

Update Regarding the Allen Community Youth Summit.
P J. Holland, Director of Student Services, Allen ISD, announced that the Allen Family and Youth
Summit will be held on Thursday, April 19, 2001. The Summit has been named "Open Your Eyes to
Today's World."
Update Regarding the Community Incentive Program for Drug Free Youth.
P.J. Holland discussed the Prevention Science Red Flags. Depending upon community support, the
D -FY -IT Program will be established.
A Group Committee chaired by John Green will develop objectives of the Program. Members of the
Group Committee are Peter H. Vargas, Steve Terrell, John Garcia, Steve Matthews, Bob Rothe,
William S. Rushing, Jon Felty and Burt Palmer. Additional members will be recruited.
4. Update Regarding the Don Rodenbaugh Natatorium.
Don Horton, Director of Parks and Recreation, City of Allen, reported that the completion date for the
Natatorium is on schedule for September 1, 2001.
5. Presentation by the Leadership Allen XII Class.
Susan Bernard presented the project of Leadership Allen XD Class - a teen center. The Class would
like a facility that is youth run but adult supported. Funding is anticipated from corporate sponsors,
fees from membership and food sales, and from city funds.
6. Creation of Joint Committee for Possible Partnerships.
"Opportunities for Joint Partnerships" Committee include Shelli Siemer, Steve Massey, Steve West and
Ken Helvey
7. Discussion of Future Topics.
"Every 15 Minutes" Program is a reality program showing the results of dnnking and driving. This is
something to be considered in the future.
8. Adjourn.
The Tnad meeting was adjourned at 7,44 p.m. on Monday, April 2, 2001.
