1. Call to Order and Announce a Quorum is Present.
With a quorum of the members present, the Triad Meeting was called to order by Mayor Terrell,
President Sublette and Chair -Elect Rodgers at 6:10 p.m. on Monday, April 7, 2008, in the
Multipurpose Room at the Allen Senior Recreation Center located at 451 St. Mary Drive, Allen,
Texas.
2. Update Regarding Arts of Collin County Project.
James Baudoin provided an update on the Arts of Collin County project.
3. Briefing Regarding the Legislative Advocacy Committee.
Mr. Helvey provided a briefing on the purpose of the Legislative Advocacy Committee. Members
include Mr. Helvey, Bill Hawley, Allen Fire Chief and Chuck Hoey, Chair of the Chamber of
Commerce.

Ms. Sides gave an overview of Project Kids 2008 A final report of findings will be submitted to the
Board of Trustees on April 28. The District's funding capacity totals $269,765,000. An election is
expected to be ordered for November 4, 2008.
5. Update Regarding the Allen Event Center.
Mr. Baumgartner provided an update on the status of the Allen Event Center. The City anticipates
breaking ground in June 2008 with opening ceremonies in October 2009
6. Update Regarding the Allen Indoor Soccer Facility.
Mr. Dentler provided an update on the Allen Indoor Soccer Facility He also discussed the
partnership opportunities between Blue Sky and Allen Sports Association
7. Briefing Regarding Healthy Communities Initiative.
Ms. Smeby provided a briefing on the Parks Department's Healthy Communities Initiative.
Presbyterian Hospital of Allen is partnering with the City to bring this program to the community
8. Briefing Regarding the Chamber of Commerce Activities for 2008.
Chair -Elect Rodgers provided a report on the activities planned by the Chamber for 2008.
9. Items of Interest.
• Next TRIAD Meeting/Monday, November 3, 2008—Chamber of Commerce will host
• Community Announcements
MOTION: Upon a motion made by Mayor Pro Tem Stout and a second by Councilmember Obermeyer,
the Council voted six (6) for and none (0) opposed to adjourn the Triad Meeting of the Allen
City Council at 7:27 p in. on Monday, April 7, 2008. The motion carried.
