Members Present: Wendell Houseley, ?on 5/orkman, Helen .Johnson, .Terry Owen
I. 'leeting was called to order by Wendell Housl.ey.
II The minutes from the July 23, 19P1 Regular Meeting were approved,
with the "s" removed from .Jerry Owen's name. 4 for, 0 against.
III. Report from the Director of P.A.P,.D.
A. Phe B:,ard was given the tabulation sheets from the bid opening of
Heed, Walden, and Rolling Hills Parks. After a review of the
tabulations, Ron Workman made the following recommendations,
seconded by Helen Johnson:
In view of funding limitations, it is recommended that Rolling
Hills and Walden Parks development projects be reviewed together and
restructured and rescheduled to make best use of Hands available. It
Is felt that the program should include improvements at Rolling Hills
and Walden Parks to facilitate maintenance and improve general
appearance as a minimum. In addition, specific plans should be made
to complete these two parks per original plans within eighteen ;18)
months ,f some of the funding designated for these parks can be
applied temporarily to Reed Park Development with the above provisions,
' the Board would concur. In any event, development of teed Park should
proceed immediately. 4 ,or 0 Against
3. The Board was given the figures and plans for the 9iscal Year
1981-82 Budget.
C. The Board was informed of the completion of the agreement for the
use of the ^orbes' property for soccer fields and that constructiun
work had 'begun.
IV. The Hoard set September 15, 1981, 7:30 p.m. at the Public Iibrary as
a Special Slorkshop for the Policies, Rules and Ffgulations 'Manual.
V. With no further discussion, a motion was made by .Jerry Owen and
seconded by Helen Tohnson to adjourn the Regular Session of the Park
and Recreation Board into Executive Session at 9:15 p.m. The Poard
voted 4 For and 0 Against in favor of the motion.
In accordance with Article 6252-17 (Open Meetings law) V.A.T. 7.S.,
Section 2 (g), the Parks and Recreation Board convened into Executive
Session at 9:20 p.m., to discuss matters pertaining to real estate
negotiations.
The 'Executive Session was adjourned at 10:15 p.m.
