CALL TO ORDER The meeting was called to order at 7:35 p.m. II. APPROVAL OF MINUTES Regular Called Meeting, November 11, 1991. MOTION: Mary Widdowson-Martin moved to accept the minutes from November 11, 1991, as corrected. Jim Waldbauer seconded and the motion carried 4 for, 0 against. III. DISCUSS PURCRASE OF 1992 PARK BOARD MANUAL Director Rhoda Savage reported that the sample manuals were received from Aspen Publishers on a 30 -day trail. Ten copies were received on November 16, and need to be returned by December 16, if so desired. If not, they may be purchased for $17 each. Following a brief discussion, Board members reported that they felt the handbooks were beneficial and would appreciate the purchase of same. PAGE 2 MINUTES - PARKS AND RECREATION BOARD DECEMBER 9, 1991 MOTION: Mary Widdowson-Martin moved to recommend the purchase of 10 manuals for a cost of $170.00. Jim Waldbauer seconded the motion and it carried 4 for, 0 against. t �# Report on Christmas Tree Lighting Program Rhoda reported that on Saturday night, December 7, 1991, the Annual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony took place at Main Street and Allen Drive. In the past, the Community Education Advisory Council had been in charge of the Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony. Following the Ceremony last year, it was given to the City. Rhoda indicated that approximately 500 people were in attendance and that their was a Visit with Santa offered at the home on the corner of Main Street and Allen Drive. The following Parks and Recreation Department Staff were involved with the decoration of lamp poles, Christmas tree and Visit with Santa: Sandy McGowan Steve Seals Joel LaFon Pat Booth Rhoda reported that approximately 1,800 lights were used on the artificial tree, and cost of supplies (without lights) was approximately $542.
