Savage, Director of Parks and Recreation Sue Witkowski, Secretary GUESTS PRESENT None CALL TO ORDER Vice -Chairman, Tom Clark called the meeting to order at 7:37 p.m. IL REVIEW PROCESS FOR CONDUCTING SURVEY FOR DEVELOPING A MASTER PLAN FOR COUNTRY MEADOWS PARK Following a brief review of the packet provided to Park Board Members, it was suggested that the Board work in pairs. Since there are seven Board PAGE 2 MINUTES - PARKS AND RECREATION BOARD AUGUST 17, 1992 members, Rhoda Savage was asked to work with a Board member to provide for an eighth partner. The area designated for interviews was then discussed and divided into four sections. Those four sections are to be campaigned by four groups of Park Board Members: 1) Rhoda Savage/Gordon McIntyre, 2) Tom Clark/Mary Widdowson-Martin, 3) Deby Chappell/Jim Waldbauer, and 4) Ray Galloway/Lonnie Thomas. It was determined that the Board meeting of September 14 was to be the target date for returning all surveys and that 25% would be an acceptable response rate. It was also suggested that if a resident is not home, a survey would not be left. All raw data will be supplied to Lonnie Thomas by office staff for his evaluation. Rhoda suggested that the first meeting of October should be a target date for taking action based on survey input. III. DISTRIBUTE PARKS AND RECREATION BOARD BY-LAWS Rhoda provided copies of the By -Laws of the Parks and Recreation Board to the members for their review IV. SET DATE FOR SUBCOMMITTEE MEETING TO DISCUSS PARKS AND RECREATION BOARD POLICIES AND PROCEDURES Following a brief discussion, it was determined that the subcommittee would meet on August 31, 1992, 7:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers of City Hall. Rhoda will investigate whether an agenda needs to be posted or not. V. MEMO ON NEW POOL HOURS In response to action taken at the August 10, 1992, Park Board meeting, a copy of the new hours for Ford Pool was passed along to the Board members. Those hours will be: August 19 - 30 4-9 p.m. Weekdays, 1-7 p.m. Saturday & Sunday August 31 - September 4 Closed September 5 - September 7 1-7 p.m. PAGE 3 MINUTES -PARKS AND RECREATION BOARD AUGUST 17, 1992 It was proposed that these new hours be posted on the Cable Access Channel 99 VI.
