V. DISCUSS DISTRIBUTION OF SURVEY TO WATTERS CROSSING
RESIDENTS REGARDING FACILITIES PLANNED FOR PARKLAND
! IN THEIR NEIGHBORHOOD
® Director, Rhoda Savage presented a brief background on a survey that was
done in the Country Meadows subdivision in which the Parks and Recreation
Board participated. The Parks and Recreation Board along with the Director
went door-to-door, soliciting input from the residents regarding their desires
for the Country Meadows Park
She also reported that Joel Roebuck (representing the developer in the Watters
Crossing Subdivision), wants to invest $150,000 in park site improvements,
but is asking the City to reimburse him when bond funds become available for
approximately $68,000. Mr. Roebuck has developed a partial site plan which
would include a playground, picnic pavilion, curbing, pea gravel, etc.
Upon being presented with the above reimbursement plan, City Council
determined that the residents of Watters Crossing should be given the
opportunity to fill out a survey similar to the one presented to the homeowners
of Country Meadows subdivision. Rhoda indicated that the 9 acre park site is
located at Belaire and Newport.
Following a lengthy discussion, it was determined that the Park Board and
staff would conduct the survey Saturday, November 19, 1994 at 10 am, in the
{; clubhouse at Walters Crossing. Residents are to be invited through the
