Members Present: Bill LaGone, Howard Sinder, Ken Posey
Members Absent: JL Haggard
1. Reading of the minutes of the previous meeting was waived
2.The following notes pertain to the meeting of the Citizen's Adivsory Committee
(a) Elo Zinke presented some background information on the planning & zoning
commission and introduced Mr. Mike Mahoney, planning consultant (b) Mike Mahoney
spoke to the group at some lenght abou the City Plan (c) Howard Snider spoke to the
Committee about community history. Members of this group present were Ramon
Womack and Mrs.
Ethyl Reddy. Mr. Sinder also spoke about economic development. Members of this
group present were Don Rodenbaugh and Ward Paxton (d) Elo Zinke spoke to the
group about Parks & Recreation and Finance (e) Bill LaGone spoke to the group
about streets & utilities (f) Ken Posey spoke to the group about Community
appearance and Education (g) Elo Zinke and Ken Posey spoke about housing
Mr. Haggar's group (h) Gery Rudd og Whisenbaker & Fix complimented the
advisory committee
on their attendance and interest. (i) in the general discussion of the City plan two
additional groups were suggested. Jim Kerr suggested one to be named Public
Safety. He agreed to be Chairman of this group. Bill Enloe voluntered to be a member
and Bill LaGone volunteered to be the planning and zoning commission liasion.
Jerry Burton and Ronnie Gentry were suggested as memebers
Al Deker suggested a community promotion group and agreed to serve as chairman.
Ramon Womack and Ed Lynge volunteered to be members. Ken Posey was
assigned as liaison (j) Individual groups held discussions after the next meeting date
was set for May 25th
3. A motion was made by Howard Snider to change the regular meeting nights to
each first and third Monday.
Second: Elo Zinke, Four for none against.
4. Gary Smith request for zoning change was examined. A motion was made by
Bill LaGone to have Mr. Curtis return the application for sketches of the lot and
buildings. Second by Howard Snider Four for none against.
5. The next meeting was set for Monday night May 25th.
6. Mike Mahoney and Gerry Rudd stated that they will meet with the city council on
June 4th and 18th Mr. Mahoney will meet with the commission on June 15th
