HomeMy WebLinkAboutMin - Planning and Zoning Commission - 1972 - 04/03 - Regular4/3/72 Regular meeting 1. minutes of the previous months meetings were read and approved 2. a hearing was held on the application of Mr. Charles Shepherd for Duncan-Strawn to change the zoning classification of a 16.676 acre tract of land in the fountain park addition from R-16(B) to OC(G) as described in his petition of March 7, 1972. the dedication of right of way for the northward extension of allen heights drive was discussed Mr. Shepherd suggested that a 50 foot strip be excepted from the request for future right of way use. Motion by Don Francis to approve the request except to delete from the request a strip 50 feet wide and 450.38 feet long on the east boundary of the tract to be used as right-of-way for the future extension of allen heights drive except that any part of this strip not used in the right-of-way will revert to o.c. (g) classification without the initaiation of an additional zoning request. second bill enloe motion carried 4 for none against note: no one appeared to speack in opposition to this zoning change 2. mr. neil holm for consideration the final plat of windridge addition no. 1 in the ensing discussion the following pertinent points were brought out (a) an examination of commission minutes ... no record of the preliminarty plat having been received or acted upon (b) mr. holm states that it was his intention to request approval of the preliminary plat at the joint meeting of the city council and zoning commission held november 15, 1971 at which time several requested zoning changes were made. he states also that he understands that he did obtain approval of the preliminary plat at that meeting (c) members of the commission voiced their apprehension that allen is in danger of becoming overloaded with a disproportionate number of smaller houses such as those planned for the 309 ... windridge addition no. 1 motion by bill enloe to approve the final plat of windriget addition no. 1, second Don Francis. motion carried 4 for none against 3. consideration of the preliminary plat of whis-lynge hills addition no. 2 was continued from the march 22, 1972 meeting. howard snider presented several recommendations from mr. mike mahoney regarding the subdivision. mr. jones was not present or represented at this meeting. it was the feeling of the commission that the plat could be brought to an acceptable design with a resonable amount of change and compromise. it was felt that direct discussion with mr. jones and his engineer was required before a favorable decision could be made. motion by don francis to reject the preliminary plat of whis-lynge hills addition no. 2 and to ... mr. jones to the special work meeting on april 11, 1972 for discussion. second bill enloe, motion carried 4 for none against 4.the next meeting was set for april 11, 1972 5. this meeting was recorded on tape
