Watson, Aldermen J.C. Hefner, R.J. McClure, W.E. Ford, E.B. Young, and R.L. Cooksey. The Council passed on the tax rendition and a motion was made by W.E. Ford for the Town Secy. to mail the statements on the rendition as it is. Motion sec. by E.B. Young, (5) Five for / noes (0) none. Motion by W.E. Ford to have some two or more members of the Fire Dept. meet with the Town Council on the next regular meeting night (Aug. 13th 1959) to talk about reorganizing the Fire Dept., sec by E.B. Young. Ayes (5) Five / noes (0) none. Motion by R.J. McClure for the Mayor to sign the exception on North 3rd st. from West ave. D to West ave. E, bk. A & B of the Whisenant Estates add. for FHA approval. Sec by E.B. Young. Ayes (5) five, noes (0) none. Motion by W.E. Ford for the Water Commissioner to go to the expense of putting a 2" spigot at the end of the (6") six in. line in the Allenwood add. (5) Five for / (0) none against. Sec by E.B. Young. Motion by W.E. Ford to appropriate the sum of $3.00 to pay someone, either the Mayor or someone he (the Mayor) will get to collect the Water Bills on Mon. Aug 10th, due to the absence of the Town Secy. Motion sec. by R.C. McClure, Ayes (5) Five / noes (0) none.
