Call to Order
With a quorum of the Board members present, the Special Called Meeting of the Animal Shelter Advisory
Committee was called to order by Chair Michnick at 7:04 p.m.on Tuesday February 5,2019, in the Animal Shelter
Conference Room,Allen Animal Shelter, 707 S.Allen Heights Drive,Allen,Texas 75002.
1. Introduction of new board member.
The Board welcomes new member Sharyn King.
2. Update on PetHub Animal Registration Tags.
Registration with PetHub has already been rolled out.The basic package is free and allows someone to scan
the tag with a smart phone to receive information that will help get the dog or cat home. Premium service
has GPS included and a percentage of the fee comes back to the shelter.
3. Review Proposed On-Line Pet Registration with PetData.
The Animal Shelter is currently working with Pet Data to establish the city's registration process on-line
that would allow the current one(1)year registration to be changed to a three(3)year registration tag(with
three (3) year rabies shot). Residents will also have an option to donate money to the shelter through this
application. Staff is reviewing contracts now and waiting for legal and city council support.
4. Discuss and Make a Recommendation to the City Council regarding Proposed Revisions to Chapter
3,Animals and Fowl,of the Code of Ordinances.
a. Ordinance Updates
Changes to the ordinance in Chapter 3 were made to ease enforcement actions taken by animal
shelter staff. Upon a motion made by Vice Chair Ackerman and a second by Dr. Coffman, the
Board voted five(5)for and none(0)opposed to the ordinance changes

b. Fee Resolution
Changes to the fee schedule were made to help with the operating costs of the shelter.
Upon a motion made by Dr. Coffman and a second by Vice Chair Ackerman,the Board voted
five(5)for and none(0)opposed to the changes in the fee schedule.
Adiournment
MOTION: Upon a motion made by Vice Chair Ackerman and a second by Dr. Coffman,the Board
voted five(5)for and none(0)opposed to adjourn the Special Called Meeting of the Animal
Shelter Advisory Committee at 7:47 p.m. on Wednesday, February 5,2019. The motion
carried.
These minutes approved on the 27th day of March 2019.
