1. CALL TO ORDER AND ANNOUNCE A QUORUM IS PRESENT
Chair Lynn Moore called the Regular Allen Arts Alliance Board Meeting to Order
at 6:05 p.m.
2. APPROVE MINUTES FROM DECEMBER 2, 2003 REGULAR MEETING
MOTION: David Sterling moved to approve the Minutes from December 2,
2003 Regular Meeting as presented. Lauren Jones seconded and the Motion
carried 6 for, 0 against.
3. CITIZENS COMMENTS
None.
4. ITEMS FOR ACTION
A. Election of Vice Chair
MOTION: Susan Butler made a motion to nominate David Sterling as Vice
Chair, Sandi Acheson seconded. The Motion carried 6 for, 0 against.
B. Honor Choir Support
MOTION: David Sterling made a motion to award the Allen ISD Honor Choir
$500. Lauren Jones seconded. The motion carried 6 for, 0 against.

C. Marketing of AAA
This item was tabled until the next meeting. David Sterling to research costs
and email the Board prior to next meeting
D. Establish "Call Time" for AAA Meetings
Lori Smeby discussed the reasoning for having a "call time."
MOTION: David Sterling made a motion to have a 15 minute "call time'
beyond the scheduled meeting time for a quorum to be present. Lauren
Jones seconded. The motion carried 6 for, 0 against.
E. Heritage Center Display
Staff recommended to the Board that they rescind the motion of dedicating
$19,000 until further information can be brought back to the Board at a later
date.
MOTION: Susan Butler made a motion to resend the allocation, Lauren
Jones seconded. The motion carried 5 for, 1 against.
5. ITEMS FOR INFORMATION
A. Funding of Scholarships
Lori Smeby informed the Board that Scholarships are not possible.
B. Review of Public Art Policies
The Board discussed what they did and did not like about various Public Art
Policies from around the Country The favorite was Reno, Nevada. Staff will
come back to the Board in February with a timeline for getting the City of
Allen Public Art Policy written.
C. Other
During this time Board members shared items of interest and suggested
agenda items for the next AAA Board Meeting.
Items of Interest: David Sterling discussed a woman, Mrs. Isreal, and her
performing arts program here in Allen that she is trying to get started within
the schools. David will get in touch with her so if she is still interested in
gaining support she can present her information at a future AAA Board
meeting.
Agenda Items: Marketing of AAA, New Budget—to reflect the addition of the
Heritage Center Display monies.
6. ADJOURN
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 8:05 p.m.
