CALL TO ORDER Vice -Chair, Debra Sielert called the meeting to order at 6:07 p.m. 2. CITIZENS COMMENTS There were no citizens present wishing to speak at this time. L 1, APPROVE THE MINUTES FROM NOVEMBER 7,2"00 REGULAR CALLED MEETING MINUTES ALLEN ARTS ALLIANCE BOARD REGULAR CALLED MEETING DECEMBER 5, 2000 — 6 P.M. CALL TO ORDER Vice -Chair, Debra Sielert called the meeting to order at 6:07 p.m. 2. CITIZENS COMMENTS There were no citizens present wishing to speak at this time. L 1, APPROVE THE MINUTES FROM NOVEMBER 7,2"00 REGULAR CALLED MEETING Page 2 Allen Arts Alliance Board Meeting December 5, 2000 MOTION: Cindy Kaleta moved to accept the Minutes from November 7, 2000 Regular Called Meeting as presented. Lauren Jones seconded and the Motion carried 5 for, 0 against. 4. DISCUSSION ON STRATEGIC PLAN SPECIFICS AND AD-HOC COMMITTEE CHARGES Don Horton briefly reviewed the Strategic Plan and specifically the changes that Mary Vail had been asked to make. He also reported that Mr Bill Dillard has been approached by the Chair, Evelyn Dawson and has agreed to head up the ad- hoc committee for the formation of an Allen Arts Alliance Guild It was suggested that the Arts Alliance Board schedule a meeting in January to address the scheduling of programs for 2001. Joyce Richards, Deb Sielert and Joel Cantwell have agreed to head the ad-hoc committee on Art in Public Places Joyce suggested that the word "visual' be added to this priority. Lauren Jones and Cindy Kaleta volunteered to head the ad-hoc committee for Arts Alliance/School Liaison Committee. It was suggested that Evelyn Dawson should be the representative for the subcommittee for Friends of Art and Parks in Allen Association. MOTION: Joyce Richards moved to accept the ad-hoc committees as recommended. Lauren Jones seconded and the Motion carried. 5 for, 0 against. 5. TIMELINE FOR LIBRARY/AUDITORIUM Mary Vail briefly reviewed the timeline for this new facility as well as provided them a copy of her calendar for the development of this project. Joel Cantwell also volunteered to be a part of this oversight committee when it begins meeting. 6. VOLUNTEER RECEPTION It was suggested that this reception be scheduled after the holidays, and that a meeting be held in January to plan the event, inviting Mr. Bill Dillard to gather his information and input into the planning. It was also suggested that it might be better to invite guests after a schedule of events has been established for 2001, thereby offering an avenue for volunteering. CULTURAL ARTS SPECIALIST POSITION Don Horton announced that the City of Allen is advertising for and accepting applications for the position of Cultural Arts Specialist. It will be a part-time (20 hours/week) position, assisting Lisa Anderson. He indicated that this person will become an important part of this Board's activities, both in planning and execution of projects. S. UPDATE/REVIEW ON BOARD PROJECTSASSUES UPDATE ON ART FEST 2001/ALLEN USA — LAUREN JONES Lauren reported that her subcommittee had met and has another meeting scheduled for December 6, 2000. Areas were defined for the event, and discussions were held regarding the children's art tent, breakfast for the artists, etc. REVIEW SUNDAY SOUNDS CONCERT SERIES —LISA ANDERSON Lisa provided the Board a list of concert dates along with the Board member volunteering to host that concert. Joel Cantwell volunteered to assist Deb Sielert with the concert scheduled for Sunday, December 10, 2000. FUNDS AVAILABLE IN BUDGET — LISA ANDERSON Ei Lisa provided the Board members with a listing of each of their projects monies budgeted, spent and surplus available. 9. OTHER BUSINESS Social — December g, 2000, 7 p.m. — Everyone was reminded that Joyce Richards had volunteered to host a Christmas Social in her home and to bring an appetizer. 10.
