ALLEN ARTS ALLIANCE BOARD
REGULAR MEETING

1. CALL TO ORDER AND ANNOUNCE A QUORUM IS PRESENT
Lynn Moore, Chair, called the Regular Allen Arts Alliance Board Meeting
to Order at 6:05 p.m.
2. APPROVE MINUTES FROM JUNE 7, 2005 REGULAR MEETING
MOTION: Patrice Alessandra moved to approve the Minutes from the June
7, 2005 regular Meeting. Rod Schwegmann seconded and the Motion
carried 6 in favor, 0 against.
3. CITIZENS COMMENTS
None
4. ITEMS FOR INFORMATION
a. Cross Timbers Youth Orchestra, Beth Hansen & Donna Netwold
Beth Hansen spoke to the board about who the Cross Timbers Youth
Orchestra is and what they do. The Orchestra has children from 15 cities
in Collin County. They offer two after school district programs and have
L experienced a 507 growth rate since they were founded in 2003. 257. of
their students are on scholarship.

b. Fiscal Year 2006 Funding of the Allen Arts Alliance
it The City of Allen will give approximately $50,000 to the Arts Alliance. The
Arts Alliance will invoice the City and the City will prepare a check.
Programs such as Summer Sounds, The Symphony, Art to Go and Allen
USA will remain as City funded projects. The Arts Alliance may, if they
choose, support those programs as well.
c. Missoula Children's Theater Update
Shannon Craft discussed the success of the week long theater camp.
Forty two children were enrolled in the program and there were
approximately 150 people at each performance.
d. New Board Member Application/Interview Update
Rod and Kathy informed the board that they had two candidates possibly
three to interview. They also received 4 more applications and will go
through those. They will be ready in September to present to the board
their final selections for new board members.
5. ITEMS FOR ACTION

6. OTHER
a. Master Plan Update
The final draft of the Public Art Master Plan will go before City Council on
Tuesday, August 9
b. Art to Go Update
Meetings with School Coordinators are underway. Portfolios are in
development. Art to Go Kick off Meeting will be held Tuesday, September
27 at the Heritage Center Trudy is also looking for volunteers to design an
Art to Go Display for the library
7. ADJOURN
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 7:04 p.m.
