(Agenda Item VIII)
Chairman Chrisman read the agenda item into the record
as follows:
"Consider approval of Class 5 sign for the Allen
Pharmacy located at 400 N. Allen Drive."
"The Board discussed the background regarding this
request. It was suggested that the optician and the
wellness center currently located in this building would
be additional retail businesses and might at some time
request a Class 5 sign. It was further discussed that
future tenants in the building might conduct retail
businesses. Board Member Leverett discussed the amount
of square footage this particular tenant takes in the
building, and questioned whether this was a major
tenant.
The Board Members further discussed additional options
that might be open to the proponent. Chairman Chrisman
questioned staff as to whether the Board had the option
of placing conditions on this permit. Mr. Del Ferro
advised he would research this question. It was stated
that the Board would require a letter from the owner of
the building giving permission for this sign with the
recognition that it would be the only Class 5 sign
allowed on the premises.
