REGULAR MEETING
APRIL 11, 1989

CALL TO ORDER:
The Allen Sign Control Board was called to order at 7:30 p.m. by Chairman
Chrisman at the Allen Municipal Annex, City Council Chambers, One Butler Circle,
Allen, Texas.
Approve Minutes
March 14, 1989
(Agenda Item II)
Chairman Chrisman read the agenda item into the record as follows:
"Approve minutes of March 14, 1989, Regular meeting."
MOTION: Upon a motion by Board Member Leverett and a second by Board
Member Cox, the Board voted 3 FOR and 0 OPPOSED to approve the
minutes of March 14, 1989, as presented.
Renewal
F.M. 2170 Limited Part. (_Agenda Item III)
Chairman Chrisman read the agenda item into the record as follows:
"Consider 2nd renewal for Class 4 sign for F.M. 2170 Limited Partnership
located at The Woods (Rowlett Estates) development site on F.M. 2170."
Mr. Del Ferro advised the Board that the sign is in good repair.
MOTION: Upon a motion by Board Member Cox and a second by Board Member
Leverett, the Board voted 3 FOR and 0 OPPOSED to approve the 2nd
renewal of the Class 4 sign for Rowlett Estates.

Renewal
Allentown Office Park (Agenda Item III)
Chairman Chrisman read the agenda item into the record as follows:
"Consider 1st renewal for Class 4 sign for Texas Advertising located at the
northwest corner of S. H. 5 and Allentown Parkway advertising the Allentown
Office Park."
Mr. Del Ferro advised the Board that the sign is in good repair.
MOTION: Upon a motion by Board Member Leverett and a second by Board
Member Cox, the Board voted 3 FOR and 0 OPPOSED to approve the
1st renewal of Class 4 sign at Allentown Office Park.
Renewal
Allen Towne Center (Agenda Item IV)
Chairman Chrisman read the agenda item into the record as follows:
"Consider 6th renewal for Class 4 sign for Allen Towne Center located in the
Allen Towne Center adjacent to Winn Dixie's Marketplace store."
Mr. Del Ferro advised the Board that the sign is not in a good state of repair and
the present script is no longer applicable. In addition, Stone -Lewis has been
notified of this situation and their representative had indicated they would advise
city staff of action to be taken by April 5, 1989. As of this date, no answer has
been received.
MOTION: Upon a motion by Board Member Leverett and a second by Board
Member Cox, the Board voted 3 FOR and 0 OPPOSED to deny approval
of the request for renewal for Class 4 sign at Allen Towne Center.
OTHER BUSINESS
Chairman Chrisman questioned whether feedback relating to the Sign Ordinance
had been received from homeowners and local businesses in recent surveys
conducted by the City. Mr. Del Ferro advised that the only problem he is aware
of is involved with the permitting and enforcement regarding banners.
Chairman Chrisman requested that staff review the ordinance for possible problem
areas and be prepared for discussion at the next meeting.

MOTION: Upon a motion by Board Member Leverett and a second by Board
Member Cox, the Board voted 3 FOR and 0 OPPOSED to adjourn the
April 11, 1989, meeting of the Allen Sign Control Board.
