REGULAR MEETING
OCTOBER 9, 1990

ICALL TO ORDER:
The Allen Sign Control Board was called to order at 7:30 p.m. by Vice -Chairman
Leverett at the Allen Municipal Annex, City Council Chambers, One Butler
Circle, Allen, Texas.
Approve Minutes
September 11, 1990 (Agenda Item II)
Vice -Chairman Leverett read the agenda item into the record as follows:
"Approve minutes of September 11, 1990, Regular meeting."
MOTION: Upon a motion by Board Member Hall and a second by Board Member
Kleinschmidt, the Board voted 5 FOR and 0 OPPOSED to approve the
minutes of September 11, 1990, as presented.
Vice -Chairman Leverett welcomed the new members, Mike Claytor and George
Smyser, to the Board.
Election of Officers (Agenda Item III)
Vice -Chairman Leverett read the agenda item into the record as follows:
"Election of Officers: Chairman, Vice -Chairman, Secretary"
Board Member Bruce Kleinschmidt nominated Randy Leverett for the office of
Chairman and the nomination was seconded by Board Member Hall.
MOTION: Upon a vote of 5 FOR and 0 OPPOSED, the Board elected Randy
Leverett as Chairman of the Allen Sign Control Board.
Board Member Terri Hall nominated Bruce Kleinschmidt for the office of Vice -
Chairman, and the nomination was seconded by Board Member Claytor.
MOTION: Upon a vote of 5 FOR and 0 OPPOSED, the Board elected Bruce
Kleinschmidt as Vice -Chairman of the Allen Sign Control Board.
Board Member Bruce Kleinschmidt nominated Terri Hall for the office of Secretary
and the nomination was seconded by Board Member Claytor.
MOTION: Upon a vote of 5 FOR and 0 OPPOSED, the Board elected Terri Hall
as Secretary of the Allen Sign Control Board.
Renewal
General Homes (Agenda Item IV)
Chairman Leverett read the agenda item into the record as follows:
"Consider 1st Renewal - for Class 4 Temporary Directional Sign located at
F.M. 2170 and Violet for General Homes as requested by Black Gillock &
Langberg."
Chairman Leverett reviewed the process of sign renewals. Mr. Del Ferro advised
that the sign is in good repair. He added that there are no more homes to be built
in the Greengate Addition, but their model homes are there. General Homes has
been building in the Country Meadow II Addition and using their offices located in
Greengate for sales.
MOTION: Upon a motion by Board Member Claytor and a second by Board
Member Smyser, the Board voted 5 FOR and 0 OPPOSED to approve
the 1st renewal for General Homes.

Other Business (Agenda Item V)
Mr. Del Ferro advised the Board that no Class 4 sign permits were issued during
the past month.
Board Member Kleinschmidt reviewed the background surrounding the subcommit-
tee considered which was set up at the September meeting to study the need for
the banners located at F. M. 2170 and S. H. 5. He discussed the need for this
study and presented a draft of a letter he had written for the purpose of solicit-
ing members for the committee from community leaders. He further suggested the
possibility of writing an article for the newspaper.
Adjourn
MOTION: Upon a motion by Board Member Hall and a second by Board Member
Kleinschmidt, the Board voted 5 FOR and 0 OPPOSED to adjourn the
October 9, 1990, meeting of the Allen Sign Control Board at
8:15 P.M.
