REGULAR MEETING

Call to Order and Announce a Quorum is Present
With a quorum of the committee members present, the regular meeting of the Public An
Committee was called to order by Chair Gilbert at 6:05 pm on Tuesday, Jane 17, 2014 in the
Parks and Recreation Conference Room at 305 Century Parkway, Allen, Texas.
Approve minutes from the February 18, 2014 Regular Meeting
MOTION Upon a motion made by committee member Bennett and seconded by committee
member Carroll, the committee voted four (4) for and none (0) opposed to accept
minutes from the February 18, 2014 regular meeting as presented.
2. Consider Making a Recommendation to the City Council for the Cottonwood Creek Trail
Bridge Art Concept
Lori Smeby, Assistant Director, Parks and Recreation shares Current Drift by FiaGibbons and
Schroeder, the bridge concept chosen by the selection panel. After review of the concept and
discussion among the committee the following motion was presented.
MOTION: Upon a motion made by committee member Bennett and seconded by committee
member Benson, the committee voted four (4) for and none (0) opposed to
recommend to City Council, Current Drift, the concept presented by FitzGibbons
and Schroeder for the Cottonwood Creek Trail Bridge An Project.

3. Consider Opportunity for Public Art Project at Watters Branch Community Park
The Watters Branch Community Park Master Plan was reviewed by the committee, as well as the
current and future Public Art budget available to the committee. After discussion about this
location as a site for future public art, the following motion was presented.
MOTION: Upon a motion made by committee member Benson and seconded by committee
member Carroll, the committee voted five (5) for and none (0) opposed to pursue
a public art project at Watters Branch Community Park.
Discussion Items
4. Ongoing Project Update
Chac installation was put out to bid, however there were no bids submitted and therefore it has
been reopened for bids.
CDC approved recommendation to participate with the Governor's Community Achievement
Award Project.
7. Adjourn
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 7:52 p.m.
