Lori Smeby, Assistant Director, Parks and Recreation Ryan Brandon, Marketing Coordinator, Parks and Recreation & Allen Event Center Jennifer Robinson, Senior Administrative Assistant, Parks and Recreation Members Absent: Matthew Grant Call to Order and Announce a Quorum is Present With a quorum of the committee members present, the regular meeting of the Public Art Committee was called to order by Chair Gilbert at 634 pm on Tuesday, December 18, 2012 in the Parks and Recreation Conference Room at 305 Century Parkway, Allen, Texas. Action Items Approve minutes from the October 16, 2012 Regular Meeting. MOTION: Upon a motion made by committee member Carriere and seconded by committee member Benson, the committee voted six (6) for and none (0) opposed to accept minutes from the October 16, 2012 regular meeting as presented. Approve Future Location of CRAC Assistant Director Smeby shared with the committee the history and specs of CHAC by Sandi Stein and then presented recommendations for its location made by Landscape Architect, Matt McComb. Possible locations included Rowlett Creek Trail South. Cottonwood Creek Trail (Allen Station Park), Rowlett Creek Trail North, Watters Branch Loop Trail Loop, the Historic Dam site, and Watters Creek Trailhead (within the Watters Creek Shopping Development) Present•, Committee Members Denise Gilbert, Chair Emile Carriere Ann Carroll Jane Bennett Susan Barry Steve Benson City Staff: PUBLIC ART COMMITTEE REGULAR MEETING December 18, 2012 - 6:30 P.M. Approve Future Location for Temporary Art Project by Connor Walden MOTION. Upon a motion made by committee member Carroll and seconded by committee member Carriere, the committee voted six (6) for and none (0) opposed to table this item until committee members have an opportunity to review all potential future location options. Discussion Items 4. Update on Public Art Mapping Project Ryan Brandon, Marketing Coordinator for Parks and Recreation & Allen Event Center shared with the committee that the website for Public Art can now be accessed at cityofallen.org/publicart The Google Map showing the location of each piece, as request at the last meeting, has been completed and pictures attached. He went on to show the "Get Involved" page with standard information and the link under the Visit Allen page as also previously requested. The committee requested the picture link be changed to Blacklaid Praire Song. The committee will review the website and send any concerns to City staff member Jennifer Robinson S.5. Dedication of "A is for Allen" The dedication will be held on January 12, 2013 in the parking lot or open field adjacent to the La Quinta hotel on Exchange Parkway. Likely it will begin at loam. David Baldwin will be in attendance and Gordon Huether if he is available. Invitations will be mailed. 6. Items of Interest a. Items for Future Agendas 1 Location for CHAC 2.
