REGULAR MEETING

1. Call to Order and Announce a Quorum is Present
With a quorum present, Keep Allen Beautiful Regular Meeting was called to
order by Chair Pat Buckley at 7:OOpm on Tuesday, April 17, 2007 in the Council
Conference Room at City Hall, 305 Century Parkway, Allen, Texas.
2. Public Recognition/Citizens Comments/Introduction of Guests
Valerie Mulenga from Collin County Community College was in attendance.
3. Presentations
None
4. Approve the minutes of February 20, 2007 & March 20, 2007
Minutes were not available.
5. Receive Financial Report/Budget
The City KAB account balance is $16,171.35. The KAB American Bank of
Texas account has not been updated.
6. Update by Parks and Recreation on Various and Upcoming Events
Susan Campbell informed the board of the completion of 17 Eagle Scout projects,
the presentation to the Scouts at May 8 City Council meeting, the status of the
wildflowers in the naturalized areas, CDC proposal for wildflower "pockets" from
"rim Dentler, KAB is invited to Ms. Green Thumb's presentation at the Senior
Center "April Showers Bring May Flowers" regarding bulbs in the garden on
April 26, a check from Christopher Jackson for the Pecan Grove project is
expected, KAB members are needed at the Pecan Grove planting during the Arbor

Day Celebration on Saturday, and that the tree that had died at St. Mary Church
had been replaced with a crabapple tree, courtesy of KAB. Susan informed the
board that Norton Elementary is having a ripple effect and the board was invited
to help with a GIS tree inventory at Anderson Elementary School.

Update on KAB Events
* Great American Cleanup — April 21, 8am— fpm
* KTB GCAA due to Austin — May 8
* KTB Individual awards due to Austin — May 15
' Summer Sounds — June — Water Fair (Andrea Smith)
' KTB Conference — July 10-13, San Antonio
" Educator's Expo — September ?, 4:30 pm — 6pm at the Ron Gentry Training
Center.
Date will be determined based on the AISD school schedule.
• Allen Recycles Day — November 3, 8am — Ipm
" Rotary Holiday Parade — December 1 or 2, possibly a lighted evening parade

Governor's Award Project & Environmental Center
Discussion of deadlines and written summaries due to Donna by May 7 for
editing.

Items of Interest to the Board
Discussion included CWD report to Council on April 24, the Norton Mayoral
Garden project with Leadership
Allen, Primrose Preschool by WalMart Market ground breaking at 2pm next
Thursday Primrose would like a
representative from KAB to accept a donation from them. Pat volunteered to
accept the check. Guest, Valerie
M was asked for input on programs or projects that she thought were needed in
the city She suggested that
apartment complexes need a way to get rid of large bulk items other than at the
GAC.
