1. Call to Order and Announce a Quorum is Present
With a quorum present, Keep Allen Beautiful Regular Meeting was called
to order by Chair Pat Buckley at 6:35pm on Tuesday, May 18, 2007 in the
Council Conference Room at City Hall, 305 Century Parkway, Allen, Texas.
2. Public Recognition/Citizens Comments/Introduction of Guests
No guests were present.
3. Approve the minutes of February 20, 2007 and April 17, 2007
MOTION: Carol made a motion to approve the minutes as presented. Dan
seconded the motion with all in favor.
4. Receive Financial Report/Budeet
The City KAB account balance is $14,334.52. The KAB bank account balance
report is not current at this time.
5. Update by Parks and Recreation on Various and Upcoming Events
Susan Campbell gave the board an update on the Christopher Jackson donation of
$4,000 to the Trees for Allen program; storm debris cleanup status; the loss of
two 200 year old trees in the storm; all champion trees were intact after the storm;
Summer Sounds concerts begins Monday; USA Celebration update; upcoming
presentation of "Silent Witness" program to Daughters of the Confederacy;
planting of trees to honor the passing of veterans from the Allen VFW, Parks is

beginning the Moulsen Farms Master Plan at the end of August. KAB requested
bluebonnet seeds and a native Tex Mex flower mix be planted with the
wildflowers next spring, as well as tree seedling containers and tree seedlings to
the list of funded items for spring
MOTION: Carol made a motion to earmark $1,500 for Susan Campbell for KAB
programs, to include 50 pounds of bluebonnet seeds and a Tex Mex flower mix,
up to $1,000 for containers and up to $500 for the wildflower and Trees for Allen
programs. Wendy seconded the motion with all In favor
6. Update on KAB Events
' Great American Cleanup — AAR
* Governor's Community Achievement Awards & Individual Awards
* Summer Sounds — Water Fair — June 4
* KTB Conference — July 10 — 13
* Educator's Expo — September 27, 4:30 pm — 6pm
* Allen Recycles Day—November 3, Sam— Ipm
* Rotary Holiday Parade — December 2
7. Governor's Award Project & Environmental Center
Discussion of post -bond election. Discussion of master plan and environmental
center. Stepheme volunteered to create a spreadsheet to compare
programs/fundmg/detads/sustainability for area environmental centers.
8. KAB Marketinp./Brandin¢/Website
Wendy provided the board with information about the AISD marketing plan.
AISD work is not complete.
9. Items of Interest to the Board
Waste in Place grant was approved by KTB to be hosted in Allen by KAB,
Connemara volunteer opportunity was discussed; update on the Lucas ISD Lake
Lavon cleanup; invitation to participate in the 40 year anniversary at the Allen
Public Library; discussion of the KTB auction item; Green Living in Plano;
compost/yard waste cart pilot program; CWD wrapping a recycling truck.
10. Adjourn
The regular session of the Keep Allen Beautiful Board was adjourned at 8:12pm
on Tuesday, May 15, 2007
