1. Call to Order and Announce a Quorum is Present
With a quorum present, Keep Allen Beautiful Regular- Meeting was called to order by
Chair Bran Casstevens at 6:30 PM on Tuesday, February 15, 2005 in the Council
Conference Room at City Hall, 305 Century Parkway, Allen, Texas.
2. Introduction of Guests
No guests were present.
3. Approve January 18, 2005 Minutes
MOTION: Motion made by Pat Buckley to approve January 18, 2005 minutes as they
stand. Minutes were approved by acclamation.
4. Financial Report/Budeet
Current balance in the KAB checking account is $9,793.01, which includes Trees for
Allen deposits. The City account balance is $20,257.60.
5. Parks and Recreation Update
Susan Campbell presented information about Arbor Day plans on April 9 at Stacy
Ridge Park, Trees for Allen delivery plans and KAB participation on March 19, Civic
Plaza dedication on March 22, and a report on removal of diseased trees in the median
on Main Street.
6. KAB Events
Christmas Tree Recycling Report
Approximately 1300 trees were chipped this year.

Proclamations will be presented at February 22 City Council meeting.
Smartscapes will be distributed to local nurseries and available at City Hall and the
Public Library during the month of March.
• Scout Recognition — March
KAB will recognize the projects of the Eagle Scout candidates for 2004 in May
• Litter Index — March
The litter index will be taken on March 19 after the delivery of Tree Guides.
• Arbor Day Celebration — April 9 at Stacy Ridge Park
KAB will contribute snacks and take volunteers to plant numbered trees.
Constable's officers will man a table with illegal dumping information.
• Great American Clean Up — April 23
• Corporate Challenge — June 4
This event was moved to a Saturday to invite more corporate participation.
• KTB Convention — June 27-30
To be held in Houston this year.
• Environmental Education Workshop —September 22
Workshop will be held at the Ron Gentry Training Center from 4:30pm to 6:OOpm
7. Adopt-a-Hiehwav
Discussion of March Adopt -a -Highway month, Adopt -a -Highway volunteers and
proclamation from the Mayor on February 22.
9. Old Business
CWD report to Council and Arbor Day poster contest winner recognition on March 22.
10. Items of Interest to the Board
Discussion of Governor's Award initiatives.
April 12", Collin County Constable's office will present their annual report to Council.
KAB will recognize Judge John Payton and Ms. Devoma Schafer for their contributions
to the City and Keep Allen Beautiful.
9. Adjourn
The regular session of the Keep Allen Beautiful Board was adjourned at 8:22pm on
Tuesday, February 15, 2005.
