1. Call to Order and Announce a Ouorum is Present
With a quorum present, Keep Allen Beautiful Regular Meeting was called to order by
Vice Chair Pat Buckley at 6:40 PM on Tuesday, April 19, 2005 in the Council
Conference Room at City Hall, 305 Century Parkway, Allen, Texas.
2. Introduction of Guests
Guests present were Stacy Cooper from Leadership Allen and Amen, a Collin County
Community College student.
3. Presentation by Ryan Peterson, Troop 1066, reeardine Eagle Scout P[nieCt
Mr. Peterson's proposed project was not approved by the Eagle Scout committee
and no presentation was made.
4. Financial Report/Budget
Current balance in the KAB checking account is $8,993.01. The City account balance
is $16,363.37
5. Update on Great American Cleanup
Discussion of Troy -Built Yard Vac giveaway; information giveaways for residents;
food donations, cooking, and cleanup; greeters for visitors from other cities; sign in
sheets, name tags; court volunteers for pick up for elderly or neighborhoods.
6. Parks and Recreation Update
Susan Campbell presented information on proposed and completed Scout projects and
tree farm projects; skate park opening on June 4; update on Arbor Day — 85 trees
planted, 200 volunteers; wildflower update; discussion of USA Celebration. Susan
requested KAB to share costs for tree containers.

MOTION: Carol Hohmann made a motion to move forward with to buy 10 -gallon
tree containers for an Eagle Scout project at the tree farm to be determined in the
future. Dan Jenkins seconded the motion with all in favor.
7. KAB Events
• Arbor Day Celebration — AAR
• Great American Cleanup
Ron Wheless has a donation from Tom Thumb for 400 hotdogs and 400 buns;
NTMWD has agreed to open the McKinney landfill until 2pm for the Allen and
Frisco cleanups.
• Governor's Award/Individual KTB Awards — Due May 10 & May 17
Discussion about submissions for individuals, schools and the Governor's Award.
• KAB report to Council— May 10
Carol Hohmann will prepare a PowerPoint for the presentation.
• Scout recognition — May 24
Approximately 14 Scouts will be recognized that have completed projects for
KAB.
• Corporate Challenge — June 4
• KTB Convention — June 27-30, Houston
Discussion of attendance, registration and accommodations.
• Environmental Education Workshop —September 22
Discussion with Carol Hohmann regarding donations from businesses that
contributed last year.
8. Items of Interest to the Board
Discussion of illegal dumping activity in the city.
9. Adjourn
The regular session of the Keep Allen Beautiful Board was adjourned at 8:05pm on
Tuesday, April 19, 2005.
