Call to Order and Announce a Ouorum is Present With a quorum present, Keep Allen Beautiful Regular Meeting was called to order by Chair Brian Casstevens at 6:45 PM on Tuesday, June 21, 2005 in the Council Conference Room at City Hall, 305 Century Parkway, Allen, Texas. 2. Introduction of Guests �I No guests were present. 3. Approve March 15. 2005 and April 19, 2005 Minutes MOTION: Carol Hohmann made a motion to approve the March 15, 2005 minutes; Dan Jenkins seconded the motion will all in favor. No April 19, 2005 minutes were presented for approval 4. Financial RenortBudaet Current balance in the KAB checking account is $9,348.01. The City account balance was not available. 5. Parks and Recreation Undate Susan Campbell was not present to provide an update. 6. KAB Events • Governor's Award/Individual KTB Awards — Update Discussion of the award nominations and other awards that KAB may apply for next year. Copies of this year's award submissions are in each board members' packet. • Discussion of KAB report to Council & Scout recognition —May 24 h Discussion of preparing and delivering presentation to the presenting person at least three days before the presentation to Council. Discussion of ideas to improve the presentation and make it more appealing to the public by involving volunteers to provide sound -bites. Discussion of ideas to improve the presentation and make it more appealing to the public by involving volunteers to provide sound -bites. • Corporate Challenge — June 4 Discussion of the cancellation of the Corporate Challenge; discussion of how to encourage participation, change of date to Friday, consideration of vacation times, school calendar, political considerations and other factors. ■�M • USA Celebration — June 25 Discussion of assistance to CWD in setting out recycling containers on Saturday morning; John, Dan and Carol volunteered to assist CWD in setting out recycling containers. Discussion of seating, tickets, parking, etc. • KTB Convention — June 27-30 Donna Kliewer and Erin Chastain -Harris are going. • Environmental Education Workshop —September 22 John, Dan and Carol volunteered to assist at the workshop. • Allen Recycles Day — November 5 This program will be presented by Donna Kliewer at the Idea Exchange portion of the KTB convention. Discussion of asking a shredding company to participate. 7. Items of Interest to the Board Allen Recycles Day program will be presented by Donna Kliewer at the Idea Exchange portion of the KTB convention. 9. Adjourn The regular session of the Keep Allen Beautiful Board was adjourned at 8:00pm on Tuesday, June 21, 2005. These minutes were approved on 26th day of Jul , 2005.
