Call to Order and Announce a Quorum is Present With a quorum present, Keep Allen Beautiful Regular Meeting was called to order by Chair Brian Casstevens at 6:30 PM on Tuesday, October 19, 2004 in the First Floor Council Conference Room at City Hall, 305 Century Parkway, One Allen Civic Plaza, Allen, Texas. 2. Introduction of Guests No guests were present. 3. Approve April 20, Mav 18 and September 21, 2004 Minutes MOTION: Motion made by Synne Ferguson to approve April 20, May 18 and September 21, 2004 minutes as they stand. Pat Buckley seconded the motion. Minutes were approved with all in favor. 4. Parks and Recreation Update Susan Campbell presented information about Allen Station Park tree plans, the tree inventory, scout senior citizen landscape project, and teaching opportunities in the AISD schools regarding the Arbor Day poster contest 5. Financial Report/Budeet Current balance in KAB checking account is $7,928.00. 6. KAB Events • Allen Recycles Day— November 6 • Texas Recycles Day Report of planned activities • Christmas Tree Recycling — December 27 — January 7 • Trees for Allen — February 14 — March 18 MINUTES KEEP ALLEN BEAUTIFUL BOARD REGULAR CALLED MEETING TUESDAY, OCTOBER 19, 2004 KAB Members present Brian Casstevens Synne Ferguson Dan Jenkins Pat Buckley John Kelley Carol Hohmann Absent Ron Wheless (excused) Staff Present Steve Massey, Community Services Director Donna Kliewer, Recycling/Solid Waste/HHW Coordinator Susan Campbell, Urban Forester, Parks and Recreation Department 1. KAB will deliver trees on March 19ih with the Parks horticulture crew • Great American Clean Up — April 23 Discussion of moving Clean Up event to the fourth Saturday in April instead of the third Saturday By acclamation, KAB voted to hold the event on April 23, 2005. 7. Old Business • Discussion of participation in the Rotary Holiday Parade, December 5 at 2:00 pm. • Discussion of AISD recycling program to start in November. • Discussion of March litter index and KAmB status. 8. Items of Interest to the Board • Discussion of April KAB report to Council 9. Election of New Officers • Nominations were accepted for Chair and Vice -Chair MOTION: Pat Buckley made a motion to nominate Brian Casstevens to continue in the position of Chair. Dan Jenkins seconded the motion. The motion passed with all in favor. MOTION: Brian Casstevens nominated Pat Buckley to continue in the position of Vice - Chair. Carol Hohmann seconded the motion. The motion passed with all in favor. • Discussion of volunteers to create scrapbook pages to document KAB events and media coverage. Carol Hohmann and Dan Jenkins volunteered to create pages. 9. Adiourn The regular session of the Keep Allen Beautiful Board was adjourned at 7:52 PM on Tuesday, October 19, 2004. These minutes were approved on day of C -W -'t fl, 2005.
