1. Call to Order and Announce a Ouorum is Present
With a quorum present, Keep Allen Beautiful Regular Meeting was called to order by Chair
Pat Buckley at 6:37pm on Tuesday, November 16, 2004 in the First Floor Council Conference
Room at City Hall, 305 Century Parkway, One Allen Civic Plaza, Allen, Texas.
2. Introduction of Guests
Christopher Ferguson, Synne Ferguson's eighth grade son, was a guest.
3. Approve October 19, 2004 Minutes
Not present to approve.
4. Financial ReportBudcet
Not present to review
5. Parks and Recreation Update
From KAB's donation of $500 and Parks & Recreation's support, 72 trees were planted in
Celebration Park. Eagle Scout Candidate Clayton Williams and Boy Scout Troop 328
donated five hours of labor to plant the trees; this provided an equivalent labor savings of
$1500 to the City of Allen.
6. KAB Events
. Allen Recycles Day AAR
Foot traffic was slow through the rotunda. There was a strong Scout and Garden Club
presence. Several of the categories were a big hit, with 45,723.045 pounds of recyclable
materials collected, 3,170 045 pounds of reusable materials collected. Items included
computers, eyeglasses, shoes, library items and items for the animal shelter.
. Presentation of AISD Certificates at Council — November 23
Patricia Buckley and Carol Hohmann will verify calendar and attempt to be present. Erin
Chastain -Harris will send a date reminder by e-mail.
• "Holiday in Texas" Rotary Parade – December 5
Attached maps show where KAB and art contest winners should meet for parade.
• Christmas Tree Recycling– December 26 – January 14
• Great American Clean Up - April 23
• Corporate Challenge - June 2

8. Items of Interest to the Board
• December 10 – Board Appreciation Dinner
• Update on increase in recycling with new Poly Blue bins
• Review Allen Magazine center fold article on new recycling program
• Update on recycling in AISD schools
• Choose winner of Allen Arbor Day Poster Contest entries
• Arbor Day– April 9
• Trees for Allen program orders will be taken Feb 14 -March 18, delivery will be March
19-31
• Vote to suspend December KAB meeting—motion made by Dan Jenkins, seconded by
Ronald Wheless, motion passed unanimously
9. Adjourn
Motion made by Synne Ferguson, seconded by Carol Hohmann, motion passed unanimously
with the meeting adjourned at 7:35pm.
